Great color and very thin and very nice!
Posted .I was undecided if to get this keyboard or the hard keyboard and am I happy with my decision. Great color and it functions just as better as a regular hard keyboard. Its so reliable. You can type pretty fast and the best thing about it is that its very slim and durable. I love it!

Keyboard for MS Surface
||Posted .I teach at a local university, using a tablet containing my lecture notes. When my old tablet failed, I found the perfect replacement in the MS Surface. It has a touch-screen keyboard, but I felt a real keyboard was necessary to cover the screen and enable faster work. There are two keyboards available: This one that is less expensive, but effective. The "keys" don't move, however. The other one cost more because the keys do move like a laptop. I'm sure it's fine, but I'm happy with the less expensive one. It works! It's light-weight! It's just what I needed.

Awesome keyboard and cover!
||Posted .I love my Surface keyboard and cover - it seamlessly connects to the Surface and has the full functionality of a real keyboard - PLUS the mouse (so some glitch touch screen functions on websites that aren't compatible can be navigated through!). Although it took just a little bit to get used to not pushing down keys - rather they are just flat touch buttons - it works great. Not to mention I feel safe carrying my Surface around knowing my screen won't get scratched and I can still easily use the kickstand so it's like my mini laptop. Only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is that it had me scared at first because it took a few tries for it to work. I'm not sure why or what magically changed (I was getting on my Surface for probably the 6th time with the keyboard to call support after troubleshooting, then it finally worked) - but nothing but the keypad worked for awhile. Guessing it was a system update. Regardless, it works now and I love it!

Easy to get used to
||Posted .You don't necessarily HAVE to have a keyboard for use with the Microsoft Surface, because you can use the onscreen keyboard, but I like having the ability to use a regular mouse and keyboard for some applications. You can also save some money and connect a regular mouse and keyboard via USB to the Surface, but the Touch Cover is portable and doubles as a cover, so to me it's the best of both worlds. Plus it connects to the surface via a magnet connection that is super neat and easy, and leaves your USB port free for other uses. I thought about getting the Type Cover instead because it's more like a regular keyboard with actual keys, because I was afraid it would be difficult to get used to the Touch Cover (which has no actual keys). It was not hard at all. I am glad I bought the touch cover and saved some money over the type cover.

Easy to use, also protects screen
||Posted .Purchased at the same time as my Surface Pro, works great! It is a little different than using a keyboard...the flat surface feels different, but for me has been easy to adjust to. I must admit, I haven't used for extended periods of time, letters, etc. My use has been limited to a few emails, memos, etc. It might be a more difficult adjustment for someone who is a heavy typist. It has also worked great for protecting my screen from scratches (I do hope to get my screen protector this week.) The magnetic connection works great and I love the fact that when you flip it to the back, the Surface automatically recognizes it and you can use the on screen keyboard. My only complaint is the cost...it's pretty expensive...if they were cheaper, I would probably buy another just to have a different color or design!

Thin and lightweight but with a price
||Posted .So, I read the reviews describing the touch feel vs the type. I took a chance and though I could type so so on the touch it lacked the feedback to type quickly and I seemed to make more typos than on a traditional keyboard. I returned the touch cover for the type cover and instantly improved both my speed and accuracy. It is thicker but it is also back lit so that is also a nice feature. I recommend to demo both before you decided which is best for you.

Extremely light weight keyboard option
||Posted .The touch cover is working quite well most of the time. But I had 2 instances in this first month where the keys stopped responding. I had to detach and reattach the cover to start working again. It seems fairly rugged but I am a little concerned that the very thin outer edges may become easily frayed after much use. Time will tell.

Perfict companian
||Posted .Works just as advertised. Love how accurate it is. Just get a little off center row some times, but not often to be cumbersome or annoying. Love it and love my Surface RT. Got the type cover with the Surface and use it so little due to how well the touch cover works. But is really is nice to have both. I use the touch cover most days, but days that I need to type a lot, the type cover is perfect. I am actually writing this review on my type cover :)

Q: Questionwhat is the difference in the touch cover and the type cover?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The Touch Cover is incredibly thin(and colorful!) and relies on pressure sensors to detect input. The Type Cover uses keys more like a traditional keyboard, so it needs to be a little thicker. If you plan to make a lot of use out of your keyboard and pride yourself on your blazingly fast typing skills, you may want to go with the Type Cover, otherwise, the Touch Cover is more portable and customizable.

Q: QuestionWould it be better to buy a Type Cover or a Touch Cover?I go to college so i would be using my keyboard a lot and I typically I write fast, so what would be better for me in this case?
Asked by SurfaceRTUser.
- A:Answer I have both the touch and type covers for my RT and Pro. The type is a great keyboard and I experienced improved typing accuracy and speed. However, it seems to be leaving permanent marks on my Surface Pro screen. I'm going back to the touch. It is a little harder to type and less accurate, but I can't have the screen messed up.

Q: QuestionDoes the Type Cover work with Surface RT?I have bought a Surface RT for my daughter who will be using it for school papers. While reading through FAQs, I saw the Type Cover is reportedly faster and more accurate than the Touch Cover. I also noticed the dimensions given for the Type Cover are smaller than the RT. Will this be a problem, or is the Type Cover compatible with RT?

Q: QuestionMS Office SOftwareDoes this device includes all the MS Office tools? Specifically Word & Publisher
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer You asked your question in relation to a Touch Cover but I think you are referencing the Surface in general. The Surface and Surface 2 include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. Publisher doesn't appear to be included. It appears as if the Surface Pro and the Surface 2 Pro do not include the Microsoft Office Suite.

Q: QuestionDoes surface touch cover work with surface 2 tablet?Do I need to specifically get a touch 2 cover to go with surface 2 tablet or can I purchase a touch cover without the "2" designation? My son would really like a cyan touch cover but I am not finding it with the "2" designation. It would be for his surface 2 tablet.
Asked by Sam.
This question was asked about the related product: Microsoft - Touch Cover for Surface - Cyan Blue
- A:Answer Just like the surface 2 is the second generation of the Surface, the keyboards have a 2 to designate that it is the second generation of the keyboard. So, no you do not have to use a keyboard with a 2 with a Surface 2, but I recommend you make yourself aware of the features of each version since they are slightly different for each one. It may be worth finding the 2 style online if the new features are sufficiently beneficial. Your decision will be guided by your son's preferences. I do know that the second generation of both style keyboards (touch and type) have backlighting so the keys are easier to distinguish. I hope this helps you.
