- A:Answer The Surface Pro 3 comes with the pen, the Surface Pro 3 Type Cover has an awesome slot to slip the clip onto to hold the pen during non-use and comes with an optional stick on pen loop to hold the said pen. So the answer is no the Surface Pro 3 Type Cover does not come with the pen... but it does come with the optional pen loop.

- A:Answer They are compatible but there are a couple differences. I think the first is the size. The Pro2 size will be smaller and won't cover the screen completely. Secondly, because of that, the screen doesn't turn off w/ the magnet on the keyboard.

- A:Answer This is only an accessory for the Surface Pro 3 and, no, there is software. I wish MSFT would give at least a break on software with a hardware purchase. I have noted and posted about this because they give free or limited suite of software to other manufacturer users.
