Odd build quality quirks and poor warranty
||Posted .Owned for 9 months when reviewed.I preordered this controller prior to release and have used it regularly since November of 2019. Overall, the controller felt like a joy to use; in almost every sense it gave the appearance of a premium product. The bluetooth and internal battery were natural quality of life improvements over the Elite 1. I used it regularly on my PC and an NVIDIA shield. Then, one morning, I went to use and felt myself being stabbed on my finger tip. Apparently, one of the tiny sleeves on the hair trigger lock popped off the controller. It happens to be in a place where I naturally hold the controller; so far from having a smooth and nice tactile feel, I get stabbed in the finger by what appears to be metal every time I use the controller. A little bit of research revealed this to be a known problem with multiple threads on the MS support site complaining of this issue. The common solution seemed to be to super glue the sleeve into the trigger (which is startling given how expensive the controller is). However, despite this knowledge, there is no option to purchase a replacement sleeve from MS and its not included in the replacement button accessory kit the company sells. The only option provided to me by MS was to buy a replacement controller; a horrifically expensive proposition for what seems an obvious and glaringly simple fix on a "premium" product that hasn't even been on the market for a year. The best MS customer service could suggest was me to engineer a fix on my own, by either sticking a piece of eraser on the stabby part or a glue on bumper. A three figure "repair" option was offered to me as well. A great and expensive disappointment indeed.

Advantage in Battle
||Posted .Owned for 9 months when reviewed.I love this controller. As an owner of an Elite 1 controller I can tell you this is a bug upgrade over that. The new design of the paddles.makes it so much easier to use because they are smaller and better places whereas with the elite 1 they were big and could easily be hit as well as feel awkward when gaming. I use this controller to play both on PC and Xbox series X. My only complaint is the nubs to set the trigger stop on each side fell off which is a weird thing to.have happen for such a high priced item. I primarily use this to play Call of Duty Warzone.

The best controller available!
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.I've use the Elite controller from Microsoft since they first came out. They are a very nice controller. 40 hours per charge is impressive. Yes, you can even play and charge at the same time. The first series did have some issues. From wearing out thumb sticks to sprint/melee buttons. Yes, these controllers do get dropped from time to time. Ive broken triggers, worn out hand grips. Series 2 seems like a game changer. Its an impressive upgrade to an already great controller. Is it worth the cost? YES!

Play with a stock controller is not possible after
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Ever since the first elite controller dropped I couldn’t play Xbox again with a regular controller. The grip the touch the feel the feedback everything just feels luxurious with this piece of hardware I wish the price would come down a tad but you gotta Pay To Play can’t live without it highly recommend it.

Best controller ever made for the xbox
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.First thought that came to my mind is that this is what every Xbox controller should be like feels very premier just like the PS five controller and also has USB-C to charge which is a huge downgrade on the regular controller that comes with the Xbox itself in 2022 we shouldn’t have to put batteries in our controllers as a new Xbox user on the series X I find it crazy that I had to buy another controller that was more up-to-date with what we handled today that’s why this controller get a five star for me for the fluidity smoothness and the rubber grip

Button issues.
||Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.I bought this controller on the 23rd and started having issues with it a couple of weeks later. The A button wasn't registering my presses. It was happening enough for me to barely notice it at first. I have the power a fusion as well so I switched to it and def found out I was having issues with a $200 controller. Was planning on returning it today when I started having issues with the right bumper sticking as well. Was just going to get another one but I think I'm just going to get refund and buy a couple of regular controllers instead. Never had an issue with those. Kinda sad an $80 pro controller from another company works better than the $200 one manufactured by the company itself. I know plenty of people who had issues with the first gen one and saw reviews that people were already having issues with this one as well. Against my better judgement I bought it anyway. Lesson learned.

10X better than the base model Xbox controller.
||Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. The controller for the series X that comes with the console is awful. It’s click clack buttons and AA battery compartment are shameful. This controller however is the one that should have come with the system. As I’m writing this review it’s on sale for Total Tech members for $140.00 and it’s worth that easy. It’s every bit as good as any custom Scuff PS5 controller that are selling for $230.00. If you love your Xbox and hate the cheap controller they packaged with it here’s the remedy.

Q: QuestionI have been trying to order this for a month or so and it still says that it is sold out?? How can a store as big as best buy be out of these for that long? Other retailers have them in stock what is going on?
Asked by jake.
- A:Answer I spoke to in Microsoft ambassador over Twitter and they said that there was a first version of the elite 2 and there were many problems like the outstanding bumper problem that was in the elite 1 carried over to the elite 2. Microsoft pulled the product and are trying to now put the 2nd iteration in to production without telling any of the 1st iteration owners that there are huge defects with their controllers. My elite 2 that I bought in December broke in February. The Microsoft ambassador was not able to confirm if the issue that broke my controller was fixed in the new version. My right bumper broke.
Answered by iPlayGames
Q: QuestionAny idea when they will be back in stock and if the issues with bumpers, stick drift, xyab, will be fixed when more are available?
Asked by Eddie.
- A:Answer I just got my 8th controller today after ordering a few days ago. Lot number 2002 (meaning it was made in the 2nd week of this year, 2020). Without testing in game, I can say that the sticks were the best feeling sticks I've had so far. They had no play/wiggle whatsoever, which is a first for me after going through 8 of these. That being said, both the A and the Y buttons worked at most 50% of the time and the B button worked closer to 80-90% of the time when testing in the Xbox Accessories app and going through menus. Basically, as of the second week of January, they have still been coming from the factory faulty. Because I still have a GSP plan, I will be continuing to buy and return these controllers until I finally receive a functional Item. If one ever comes, I will let you know, especially if they actually send the new model (model FST-00008 as opposed to original model FST-00001) that I keep placing orders for that they continue fulfilling by sending older models.
Answered by goodluck
Q: QuestionAre you finally shipping ONLY the updated FST-00008 model or are you still shipping the original, defective FST-00001 model? I've had 15 (FIFTEEN!) of these since launch, a dozen through Best Buy and 3 through Microsoft directly, and all have been bad.
Asked by goodluck.
- A:Answer Simple answer is no. I am the OP of the question and ordered another one without an answer anyway. It came in a busted shipping box and belongs to lot number 2022 and model number FST-00001. it was broken on arrival, again with defective sticks and face buttons and this time also a defective RB. This is a joke at this point. Microsoft and Best Buy should both be ashamed of themselves for selling this product. There is a reason Best Buy's protection plan has gotten more and more expensive since launch; they know it is a bad product. Good luck if you ever order this junk.
Answered by goodluck
Q: QuestionHas anyone ordered through BestBuy and received a model number FST-00008? I've read online that BestBuy has been sending people the FST-00001, even though they specifically note the updated version. The FST-00001 was plagued with manufacturing issues.
Asked by ModelNumberGuy.
- A:Answer I ordered a FST-00008 and received a FST-00001

Q: QuestionHad a joystick get stuck in "Drift" position. Is it easy to bring back to Best Buy, and get a replacement/exchange? I have the 2 year warranty from Best Buy. Had this controller for only 6 days...maybe 4 or 5 hours total playing time.
Asked by Mavic.
