great next-gen system
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Waited in line for midnight release and boy was it worth it, haven't seen anymore in stock for a week. So far I have played COD ghosts, Forza 5 LE, Dead Rising 3 and I've been extremely happy with all three. The graphics are really good and are a major improvement over the 360 which is too be expected, when I played the display at a Microsoft store it was like looking through a window and in makes my 4 year old sony lcd 46" look like our new Samsung led 55" we got in 2012. The controller has some nice features, no protruding battery, the IR sensors are cool, the smaller thumbsticks & large triggers feel great but the LB/RB buttons feel harder to reach than before and the texture is slippery with dry hands. Kinect 2.0 works very well once you learn the commands & remember to say xbox first. The old kinect was frustrating & could never hear me unless I yelled, but the new kinect can hear just your everyday normal voice. I'm amazed at the features the Xbox one can do, I had know idea it could automatically turn my TV & DirecTv box on & off as well as control volume/mute, change channels via Kinect, play/pause recorded shows, record gameplay, and much more. And when I saw in the settings it could control TVs & Sat boxes I didn't think it would work with my 4 year old tv that has no smart features and a new but basic second room Satellite box but it connected & worked with both easily. I charged the rechargeable battery twice after two 6-10 hour gaming sessions but have since played at least 24 hrs without charging and the controller has showed no signs of dying anytime soon, but there is no more battery meter in the menu so you really have no clue when it will die. Xbox live appearance could be refined some more. I hope Microsoft has a remote in the works, it would come in handy when I want to watch TV at nite or just turn everything off but don't won't to use the controller and can't talk cause others are sleeping . Other people seem to be having a bunch of different issues but I haven't experienced anything major. My only problem has been that it stopped turning my TV/Sat box on and wouldn't pass through a sat signal after being on for 6 days, all I had to do was a hard reset/reboot and its been working fine since. For $500 a extra controller and a bigger hard drive would have been nice, but I'll take what's offered since we really don't have any say so. Xbox 360 was a way better console than PS3 (especially after sony started making them cheap) but this time around the hardware specs and price are making the PS4 the better choice, and while I don't regret purchasing the XBOX ONE I might just have to get a PS4 too so that I'll have them both.

Console for everyone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you think an xbox is just for teenagers who don't have dates on Friday night you're wrong. The xbox one bridges the gap between tv, movies, games, and web. Almost semlessly takes you to a disired destination just by voice command. For the gamer in you the next step in graphics and gaming realism, like in FIFA 14 ignite engine, show what pervious systems could only half resemble. My only poor remarks would be that because of the fact that it's so new and limited console numbers released the games available are few and people online few too. Even the xbox's legendary game, debatably the game that breathed life into xbox, halo isn't even available. Not asking for halo 5 but come on, release halo4 at least! Couple that with the fact that only a lucky number get to own the system at this moment playing online can sometimes seem like you're the only one who got an xbox on release day. Hardware wise speaking the voice commands can sometimes make you feel like you're yelling at your xbox. All things considered, more xbox games will come out, more xbox one's will become available for sale, so while these issues I've brought up Might seem major, a little bit of patience will return years of happiness with your new system. Welcome to the new way we look at our TV and gaming consoles.

Way better than ps4
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Xbox one is awesome. You can connect your tv to the back as an input and then display tv side by side with your game by saying xbox watch tv. I have purchased a ps4 and an Xbox and found the Xbox to be something new. Something I needed to complete my entertainment center. It is a media hub. Ps4 has many great apps and the new interface is good, but it isn't anything close to what you get with Xbox Dashboard. Xbox live has beeen working well on all games that I bought for it. Psn is still down three weeks after launch. Now you are paying for the same garbage online service that used to be free. Since I normally am playing online, this was huge for me. The controllers are both better than the last gen and I can't say I like one more than the other. I do like that by saying Xbox off my xbox turns off my television, the Xbox, and my receiver. The ps camera doesn't even compete with new kinect. If you buy the ps4 camera to compete with the bundled kinect, you are almost at the same price. If you are deciding what console to get, you can choose the cheap less fun ps4 or something that you will use for way more than just games, and is more than any smart tv, or gaming console before could offer. The graphics are barely better than Xbox 360. Ps4 graphics are also the same proportion to the ps3. This could have been improved. My nvidia Titan blows these out of the water. The refresh rate on Xbox makes games look very smooth in fast motion...BUY IT. Even if your child wants a ps4. Ge them this and you and them will both be happier.

Great for all around entertainment
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like this machine and is great for all around entertainment purposes but if you are looking to strictly game the PS4 is the better option, I have both.
