Game of the Year!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is like a combination of both the games Batman and Assassin's Creed set in the Lord of the Rings world.. There are loads of missions you can do and just the battle system alone had me blown away. Also something I have never seen in any game is the Nemesis System which I enjoy..This is by far my game of the year. I would so recommend this game. Just not to kids though.

Good game and good story line
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a Christmas present from my wife and to be honest the first game I received for a long time, (remember Command and Conquer 3?) The game is 5 DVDs and it took 90 minutes to install. At first I thought I would not like the game because of all of the different commands you had to memorize to be proficient. But once I hurdled the learning curve I enjoyed the game a lot. The game is the story of a man, Talion, who's wife and daughter were killed by the Black Hand of Sauron. It isTalion's journey for revenge. He is possessed by a wraith, Celebrimbor. We find out about 1/3 into the game that Celebrimbor played a very important part in the Middle Earth world. (If you have read the Silmarillion you already know who Celebrimbor is). It seems as if the story takes place between The Hobbit and Lord of the Ring. Gollum makes a brief appearance in the game still looking for his precious. This is an over the shoulder slasher game. The graphics of the game were very good. The story kept my interest as well. I usually don't watch the cut out scenes but the ones in Shadow were very good and held my interest. There are plenty of side missions too that will earn you extra XP and gear. The only part that got a little old was when you battled the chiefs and captains. They always talked trash adn their trash talk became repetitive, unfortunately you can't just hit Esc and cancel out of that. One thing I really liked is if you fight a captain or warchief and lost the they will level up making them even harder to kill the next time you see them. The game is very violent, a lot of Orc and Uruk blood and beheadings. It took me about 40 hours to beat the game, but there were still some side missions I will go back to and finish. I think that even if you're not into Middle Earth you will still enjoy the game.

A very well made game!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I hesitated to purchase Shadow Of Mordor because of some of the bad reviews I've seen. But do not listen to the bad reviews. This game looks amazing and runs smoothly. Great storyline. The only thing is there is a bit of a learning curve, and the gameplay can get repetitive at times, but overall changes quickly and keeps you up beat.

If you love LOTR, you will love SoM
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shadows of Mordor is not your typical roundabout LOTR game. It takes place about 80 years before the time of The Hobbit and pits you against the murderers of your son and wife as you battle your way up through the ranks of the ever evolving and adapting enemy thanks to the nemesis system to get to face the Black Hand of Sauron. You may feel all powerfull when you first start out hacking and slashing your way through his army of orcs, but once you see the death animation you will find out very quickly what once was a trivial encounter with an enemy is now an uphill battle with an arrow in your knee. For every death you have in Mordor your killer will gain power and become a captain, now he will be harder to kill he may sport new weapons or armor or be immune or strengthened to the tactics you used in your previous encounter. There are also power struggles within the game which can happen when a captain holds a feast or a duel. Prevent this and you can shape the outcome of the event and stop them from gaining power but decide to not intervene and saurons army will become bolstered any Captain you eliminate will be replaced with new initiates all at each others throat and your own trying to clamber to the top of the food chain. In the first 15 minutes you will undoubtedly become distracted by side missions and errands and become ingrossed in the game . Ever so often you will stumble upon a main mission and the beauty and poetry that the developers sewed in with ever stitch will shine as this truly unexpected and intricately well designed masterpiece throws you into the barren yet beautiful land of Mordor. I strongly encourage any LOTR fan to check this out it will sate your taste for lore in the original spirit of Tolkien's novels but with a depth and feel that you could never before experience 9.7/10 for me because of a few graphical mishaps that I rarely noticed. These are sure to be patched soon in an upcoming update which will make this game as flawless as it is enjoyable. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!.

Great game albeit kinda short
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game leaves very little to be desired. The graphics are great. The story line is great and engaging. The only to be desired is that the game is not very long. I got through with 100% completion in very little time at all compared to other similar games.

Solid game with lots of replay value
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After logging 20+ hours on the game I can say It's a great game. The story and characters are well written and missions are always fresh with the nemesis system. While I've spent a lot of time just running around collecting things and fighting orcs, the game has a lot of content even for the story. Expect yourself to be fighting skirmishes even when you could be well off completing missions simply because the gameplay is a lot of fun. With stealth, ranged and sword fighting you will want to try everything when doing missions which is refreshing to not always be limited to one approach.

A lot of freedom, great mechanics and story!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Playing through the initial stages of "story mode" I was floored by the graphics (PC) story-telling and sandbox mechanics. The Nemesis system is wonderful. If a captain beats you he ranks up and then overthrows another captain in Sauron's army. Also love the "interrogation system", while in "wraith mode" you can drain and interrogate a henchman which helps reveal the identity of someone on Sauron's army's captain "ladder". Wonderful design!
