Grace has left behind the Nocturnals. (Not really, because most of the band, including husband Matt, are still around.) The sound is poppier and the lyrics seem more Grace centric. This absolutely works in a concert setting, as I saw her perform some of this songs before the album comes out. It is hit and miss on the album. I would say half the songs are strong, and two or three are some of her weakest.

I'm a huge GPN fan so I was a little worried about this album and if it would be completely different. It doesn't disappoint! Basically it's full of fantastic music by unbelievable musicians and how can I not mention that set of pipes that Grace has! She is so incredibly talented!

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals is one of my favorite Rock bands- this is NOT a GPN record for sure. The poppy/dance vibe was unexpected- but the more I listen to it, the more I like it... not surprising since Grace's musical talent and glorious vocals make her a true rock star!

Her previous albums with the Nocturnals were more bluesy and rock, with even some jazz tints. This one is more commercialized pop and was disappointing. Though her voice is still dynamic and thrilling. A genuine talent and personality -- waiting to hear what is next from Grace.

For being her first record without the nocturnals, I didn't know what to expect. It has more of a pop feel than some of here older stuff, but it's really great and her voice still outshines

I bought this because I love Grace Potter's voice. It's a bit more pop than her previous albums but her voice still shines.

Grace Potter has one of if not the best voice in rock music currently. If you haven't given her a chance you should.
