Customers enjoy the HD Pro M289 1080p DLP Mini Projector's excellent picture quality, portability, and convenient battery life, making it ideal for watching movies on the go. However, some users find the brightness insufficient in well-lit environments and the fan noise noticeable. The small size is a plus for many, but the kickstand's sturdiness is a concern for some.

I travel a lot, and I’m a gamer. I carry my PS5 with me all around the world. I wanted to have a portable screen but instead of getting a monitor I decided to get this portable projector instead. This little thing is very nice. It’s not as bright as a proper tv or monitor but if you can control the ambient lighting I think you will be happy with this purchase.

I was pretty impressed with the features of this projector. I have played videos and movies from a Windows laptop connected via HDMI and the output is clear and fairly bright on a flat smooth off-white wall. The picture does get a little washed out as the image size increases (+ distance from projector to viewing surface) but that's to be expected from a portable lower-end projector. I did not have a USB-C video cable and unfortunately was not able to test that input. When I initially connected the HDMI cable I could not get any output from the PC until I pressed what I thought was the input selector but is labeled as the eco mode selector in the guide. Regardless, pressing it toggles between USB-C and HDMI inputs. I also was only getting 720P on the projector from my laptop. I then tried a different laptop which the projector detected at 1080i. I assume the output limitation was with the HDMI port of the first laptop and not an issue with the projector. Love the fact that it has a built-in battery and with it's compact size that makes it very portable. It's rated at two hours of playtime on battery. I haven't specifically measured how long it runs on a charge but based upon my usage that rating seems reasonably accurate The vertical keystone correction is nice in that it will auto adjust based upon angle of the projector. There are no horizontal adjustments so it has to be aimed square at the playing surface so the image isn't skewed. Not a big deal as you generally have to pay a lot more to get lens shift or more advanced adjustment features. It has a manual focus dial which I didn't seem to have to mess with much as it usually seemed to be properly in focus. The built-in speakers are plenty loud and sound decent for 3 watts. Granted you're not going to get cinema quality sound but they are more than adequate. Fortunately if you want a better sound just plug in a powered speaker in to the 3.5mm output jack. I tested with a small portable speaker and it worked great. The threaded tripod mount is also a nice feature. One concern I would have would be regarding the kickstand. The unit itself has a very sturdy solid feel to it but the kickstand seems a bit flimsy in comparison. Hopefully it holds up over time.
