Refurbished Phones

There are several reasons why you might want to consider buying a refurbished phone as opposed to a new cell phone. First, you’ll find attractive savings on refurbished smartphones so you can get a newer model for a better price than brand new. Second, refurbished phones are rigorously tested and restored to like-new condition before they are made available for resale. Restored and refurbished iPhones and other top phone models are put through a multipoint inspection and repackaging process as part of the service done by Best Buy's Geek Squad®, the manufacturer, or a third-party refurbishment company, making it unlikely that you will experience any malfunctions. Finally, purchasing an iOS or Android refurbished phone is environmentally friendly because, as a recycled product, it stays out of landfills and doesn’t contribute to environmental damage, which makes this an ideal option for individuals and families who strive for sustainable living.

You’ve decided that buying a new-to-you cellular device is the best option, but now you’re wondering if you should buy a locked or unlocked refurbished phone. Physically, the only difference between the two is a hidden software setting. Locked phones can only be used with the carrier’s cellular network, and unlocked phones are not carrier-specific and can be used on any compatible cellular network without a service contract, making them ideal for use outside the U.S. If a contract-free refurbished phone is preferable to you, you can opt to use prepaid minutes and buy a mobile hotspot to extend your connectivity while on the go. With the money you’ve saved on your phone, you’ll have funds left over to buy smartphone accessories like a spare phone charger or a protective case that will extend the life of your phone.
