Works great!
||Posted .Purchased three of these antennas for use in various parts of the house, upstairs, downstairs, and in the garage in the Brentwood, TN, area. This area south of Nashville and south of the broadcast antennas is known for its hills and the antenna pulls the same stations in every part of the house. Use these web sites to see if a digital TV antenna should work for you: http://transition.fcc.gov/mb/engineering/dtvmaps/ and http://www.gomohu.com/tv-for-free-front/.

Best Indoor Antenna I've Used - Ever
||Posted .I have tried every antenna in the book. I dumped cable TV a few years ago (still have cable internet), and made the choice to only receive broadcast TV. I just love these Mohu's and really don't look at any other indoor variety anymore. I have two of these Mohu's and just ordered two more. I get more channels with both of these on two bedroom TV's than I do with my two attic antennas that cost me several hundred dollars to have installed. I live in a city about 10-25 miles from most of the local broadcast towers, but they are in different directions, and so I have struggled getting all of them at once with stationary antennas. The amplified version has a USB power plug, so you can plug it directly into your TV for power, if it has a USB port. If not, there is an included USB power adapter so you can plug it into an outlet. The amplifier itself is very small and thin, and integrates/fits well between the coax cable to the TV and the antenna. The antenna has a black side and a white side, and appears to get the same reception with either side against the wall, though it is somewhat directional in terms of which wall you place it on. There are four push-pins included and the antenna has two holes in the top corners so you don't have to pierce it. If you're <25 miles or so from the transmitters, the non-amplified version will work just fine. I have one 50-mile amplified and a 30-mile non-amplified, and see little difference in performance in my area (Omaha, NE). In fact, if your signal strength is strong, the amp might present a problem with signal overload. There is no material difference between the 30 and 50-mile antennas other than that the 50-mile has an amp included, and the 30-mile does not. The amp, however, is a separate unit (not permanently attached to the antenna) and you do not have to use it with the antenna. Great design and yes, great performance. I have yet to see a better-performing indoor antenna.

Good value
||Posted .Old antennae did not get all desired channels in living room and required frequent position changes. Reception with multidirectional leaf is major upgrade no longer requiring position changes to improve reception. Product design is versatile and can be positioned nearly anywhere with having to worry about junking up the living room. When I opened the box I was surprised to find no power cord and nothing but a coaxial cable some hangers and a thin plastic spatula that is the antennae. Wow less wires and better reception, huh. Leaf is currently tacked to back of entertainment center and out of site still getting better reception than old antennae. Only reason I did not rate this a 5, is because I am still unable to get a 1 major broadcast channel in the living room, that has a tower less than 10 miles from my home. I am able to get the channel in room directly above the living room, I guess I will have to look for an alternate location for the antennae if I find it to be that important for me to get the 1 channel I'm missing in the living room. Definitely would recommend this product vs. Others in the same price range. I'm currently using the old ugly rabbit ear style antennae in my bedroom window, because one of the antennae snapped and is currently being held together with electrical tape. It works but i need to make sure not to trip over the wires each time I go in the closet. I'm sure i'll trip and break it soon enough and won't hesitate to go out buy another leaf.

this rocks!
||Posted .if anyone wants to reduce their cable bill: heads up. this $40 antenna is a no brainer to install and brings in all major networks (i.e. ABC, CBS and NBC + plus others) in HDTV for free. Yes - FREE. great way to cut the cable bill. I've added streaming technology (Hulu+ and Netflix for additional $15/month) to satisfy my broadcast needs. For those premium shows that I still want, I download GAME OF THRONES, etc. with my Apple TV. My cable bill has gone from $190/month to $40/month (internet only). My landline phone service is via OOMA ($150 initial investment then FREE ) i pay local taxes only, about $3 bucks a month. HAPPY CAMPER HERE...

Good antenna
||Posted .I debated giving it a 4 star because it doesn't pick up all my local channels. I don't get a really big one like ABC. I moved it around but it still will not pick up.I get several channels that no one ever watches, actually n one has ever heard of. I disconnected my cable/satellite service because I'm tired of the bills going up and up. With technology today, I think it should be less. I bought this antenna to watch my local channels and the quality of the 2 I do get is great. I was able to watch the Superbowl using this antenna and I didn't have to pay a cable company to do it. The antenna costs around 30.00 and has paid for itself in the first month. I get 2 of the 3 main local channels here. I'm happy with that. I'll still give it a 5 star for what it does do, but I could give it a 4 star because of what it doesn't do. I would still strongly recommend it to anyone wanting to cut the cord! I'm please with my purchase.

Q: QuestionHow many channels can I get using this antenna? And is it really free once you buy it?
Asked by Stephen.
- A:Answer It is free once you buy it and IF you are in a good location to use an antenna! I would suggest that you google "how many ota channels will I get" and locate a site that allows you to put your address in for a signal scan. This will give you an idea of what channels are being broadcast in your area.

Q: QuestionCompatibilityYour description says "compatible with select HDTVs". How can I tell if it will work with my TV? I have a Samsung 40" Smart TV.
Asked by BobMcG.
- A:Answer I'm not sure why it says 'select HDTVs'. Maybe because you have to have a regular coax style antenna input? Or maybe they're covering their fannies on TVs which are now 4K or UHD and their antenna is officially rated at 1080p. Since you're picking up broadcasts off the air, I wouldn't worry about the latter issue. I'm not familiar with any TV stations broadcasting in anything higher than 1080p at this time. Not to say they couldn't in the future, but you'd be used to 1080p, so even if you couldn't take advantage of it, you'd never know the difference. As to the input, just look at the back (or side) of your TV. Is there an input for a coax cable? It's round, protrudes from the TV, has threads on the outside, with a small hole in the middle. It's usually labelled "antenna". If so, you're good.

Q: QuestionCan you use this for two TVs? Or do I need to buy two antennas?I have two TVs in two different rooms of my house and would like to use this TV antenna. Can one work for both? What would the setup have to be? Thanks.
Asked by innaSF.
- A:Answer I suppose you could. But this is a wired antenna, which means you'd have to buy a splitter and enough cable to run a feed to the other room. In which case, you'd probably suffer enough signal loss to significantly degrade the signal. So you'd probably want to buy a signal booster. By the time you buy the splitter and cable (not to mention the booster), you may as well just buy another antenna. Not to mention the fact that you'd have to drill holes or run a cable through your house, either of which could be unsightly.

Q: QuestionWill this antenna work on a tv in the center of a home with no windows nearby.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Antennas tend to work the best in a window. But if the signal strength is strong in your area it may work fine on an interior wall. Keep in mind that some building materials such as stucco, metal siding, metal roofing, can block your signals which is another reason window placement is ideal.

Q: QuestionI have a Sony and Magnavox 36" Tv's but with the big back..they are for my summer cabin..will this antenna work on big back Tv's or only on flat screens????
Asked by Jesse.
- A:Answer If your television made before 2009 you may need to invest in a digital converter. If you’re not sure of the age of your television you can check your manual for that information. *ATSC, it means you do have a built in tuner that will allow reception of digital television channels. *NTSC means you do not have the built in tuner and you will need a digital converter. *If you’re still not sure, please call your TV manufacturer. A digital converter box connects to your existing TV and allows it to receive free over-the-air digital TV signals. A digital converter box is a one-time purchase with no monthly fees. One converter box is necessary for every TV that doesn't have a built-in digital tuner and that receives its signal over the air with an antenna. They are fairly inexpensive and can be found at electronics stores or online.

Q: QuestionHow is the antenna mounted on a wall or window?
Asked by jack.
- A:Answer The antenna comes with small velcro discs that you can stick on the antenna and the surface you want to attach it to. There are also two small holes at the top of the antenna where you could use nails or pushpins to attach it to a wall.

Q: Questioni am getting 28 channels and right now it is placed close to window. each time the car goes by in front of my house reception shows static which goes awy when car drives away. I live in 1st floor of private house
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Unfortunately vehicles work as moving metal barriers that will disrupt signals. The signals bounce off them and away from the antenna. The only thing you can really try is getting the antenna higher so that its positioned higher than the traffic. This is a tough issue to resolve and it's all about placement.
