Although the sales associate assured me that the ultra expensive HDMI cables were essential for getting the best picture out of my new 4K TV, I did some research and found that this is not true. HDMI 2.0 cables of just about any price/brand will give the same picture quality. Returned the $75 cable and ordered two 6ft cables for $13. Picture looks amazing.

I bought these HDMI Monster Cables at the recommendation of the Best Buy representative despite the experts at CNET telling me that they were an unnecessary gimmick designed soley with the aim of separating me from my money. I also bought "Amazon Basic" HDMI Cables. I can tell no difference in picture quality between the two so I'll let you decide if the extra money is warranted.

I bought the 35' cable to run inside the wall from my HD projector to my components. This was installed prior to the drywall being installed. A month later when I was hooking my equipment up nothing worked! No signal to the projector. So I hooked up the cable to a small TV from the cable box and still NO signal. Then I noticed a yellow piece of tape on the end at the cable box, it said "TV". What the heck. I went back to Best Buy and read the HDMI package that I bought and it said nothing about being one directional. So I told the Best Buy techs about my problem and they had never heard of a one directional HDMI Cable. They even searched the internet to see if there was anything about this cable being one directional and they found nothing. They were very helpful and apologized for what happened. Sorry I can't comment on the performance of this cable as it's ran through my ceiling and across my wall tied to other cables & wires. The only option is to CUT OUT the new drywall along where the HDMI cable was ran, turn it around and patch the drywall & paint again!!! FUN right. Thanks Monster!! How about adding to the outside front of your package "Caution Cable only works in One Direction"

I ran the wire in my wall to basement and it didn't work. Everyone told me I probably put a nail in it when i put the wall back up. I found out two weeks later that the direction of the line matters. I had to pull it out the wall and reverse it. It now works, but during the two weeks of no tv I found this cable 50-70% less expensive online and it was too late to return it. Also, my wife wasn't (isn't) happy I put another hole in the wall after we just had them painted the previous week. Oh well, live and learn.
