The ring itself looks good and is very light, however the construction feels very plastic and cheap and the ring scratches easily. The app is very simple and easy to navigate, however because all of the tracking is done through an app and is updated every few minutes this ring will not work as a heart rate monitor. The ring also fails to track steps and heart rate with any regularity on all gym cardio equipment even the treadmill. You can manually enter exercise info into the tracker to receive a daily calorie expenditure but unless you do it immediately after exercise you will have to scroll awhile to reach the correct time. Sleep tracking is also not accurate, it is heart rate based so I often and up and about for 15-20 minutes before it stops counting me as asleep. The ring is best used to track daily calories burned, daily resting heart rate and non-gym step counter. For $200 there are so many more options for fitness trackers, the only thing Motiv has going for it is that it is more attractive than the typical wrist trackers. Also the manufacturer has a 45 day money back guarantee. BestBuy has a 15day return policy only, if you still need to try it out buy direct or you will be stuck with the product like me.

I wanted to start tracking sleep and decided to try this. I wore the sizing ring for a bit and when I went to order the size/color, the website said I needed to contact customer support (this was Sunday night). BUT, it let me complete the order and said I would get an email in about 24 hours with shipping info. Waited for several days then contacted Motiv and inquired and the reply email suggested I was wrong since the website told me it was on back-order. The website didn’t tell me that, it said I needed to contact customer support, then it let me submit the order and said it would ship shortly. Also, very unhelpfully, the person suggested I could order any other size. Umm, no. I picked the size that fit the finger to wear it on. If you are average size, you might be told to pick a different size. Setting up the app was easy, the info is close to what Apple Watch says for steps, HR, calories (this is why it gets 2 stars instead of 1). Sleep tracking is good for time asleep and HR. New problem, due to issues with prior cell service provider, we switched carriers and got new phones. The ring appears to be providing info to app, but it says I need to pair my ring. Another 30 minutes of screwing around with it is pry needed...
