Works great.
|Posted .This modem stands out and has been doing a great job. It never failed and connection is really fast. Depending on the cable gauge I suggest to hang it somewhere or stick it with some adhesive. It is very lightweight.
I would recommend this to a friend- Pros mentioned:For comcast/xfinity, Speed

Very Fast Modem / Worked Great out of the box
|Posted .Pros mentioned:For comcast/xfinity, SpeedI have XFINITY cable and wanted to use my own modem instead of renting. I found the Motorola both fast and easy to install, with the service I have, a call was needed to activate the modem along with the model number and serial number (on bottom), and a longer Ethernet cable (one that goes from the modem to the computer). The computer was lightning F A S T and works great. Never had any issue with it yet, works great, and no more rental fees. I then wanted to go wireless, so I also bought a BELKIN wireless router, and it also works great with the Motorola Modem. Now, I have 4 security cameras, 3 laptops, 1 desktop, 3 smart phones, and a notebook all hooked to this modem / router and still works great with XFINITY.

Specifications on Best Buy Website are FALSE
Posted .The SPECIFICATIONS section of the listing for this modem says it is 24x8. It is only 8x4. The PRODUCT FEATURES section is correct, but the SPECIFICATIONS section is wrong. So when COX showed up to install 300mbps speed Internet, they couldn't use it and had to install one of their own. Now I have to buy another modem, return this one to Best Buy, and return the Modem that Cox had to install. Thanks Best Buy for wasting hours of my time.

Great modem
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendFor under $100, the modem is a great deal. Works just as good as the ones that you get from your cable company. I returned my modem back to time warner cable and now I'm saving about $130 a year on my cable bill. I haven't had any problems with the modem. Great product.

Works well
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendUsing the Motorola (Zoom) with Comcast, and the performance is better than I expected. I purchased this model over the older Motorola/Arris Surfboard because it has lightning protection built in. The Motorola Surfboard might have the same feature, but I could not find it listed in either the marketing material or owner's manual. I also found good reviews for the chipset used inside of the cable modem. Note that while the brand is Motorola, the manufacturer is Zoom Telephonics. Like the expired agreement with Arris, the manufacturer of the Surfboard line of cable modems, the Motorola name is used under license.

I found this and am happy with my purchase. It was easy to set up and only took one call to Xfinity to have it configured into their system(I never set up the Xfinity app like I should have). 10/10 will buy again.

Q: QuestionThis modem works only if my labtop is next to it and sometimes on the first floor of the house. As soon as i go upstairs, it stops working. Out house is large (3600sf) so maybe I need another modem? Anyone know?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer That is not your modem, the modem only brings the signal from your internet provider to your home. Your wireless router is responsible for varying signal strength in the home. Make sure you have a router capable of the speed this modem supports, and if it does you may want to try a range extender that plugs into a wall outlet to increase your range/signal farther from the router. If your router is older or you aren't sure of it's speed, you may just want to replace it as the technology improves rapidly.
