Loving this phone!, but was concerned
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have read so many mixed reviews... was a bit concerned, but took the plunge and have zero regrets. This is my 3rd smart phone coming from the Moto Droid X (which was much improved with rooting and custom ROMS) So many have said the camera is terrible... I am wondering if this has been addressed as mine is really good. Not as good as a dedicated camera, but I am surprised at how good it is. Some say the screen resolution sucks... I did compare to the Maxx HD,and Samsung S3. No question both are better... but reality is the Maxx screen is more than what I need in a phone. Seriously... some folks are just too picky. Call quality is superb! Believe me I would love to bash both Verizon and Moto... but.... So many have said the gorilla glass is prone to cracking. Well.... this concerned me the most of everything I read. I have not dropped it... yet. I did however purchase the Trident Aegis case and the Skinomi screen protector. Both of which are excellent! FYI: I returned the Otter commuter case as I felt the Trident offered much better protection. Also preferred Skinomi to the Zagg Perhaps 2 more reviews are in order. Some complained about the speaker. Once again... I see no issue. More than enough volume and clarity. Some have said the battery is all hype.... Well, all I can say is my friends with Iphones and Samsungs are always looking for a charge. Not me. I travel a lot for work. I see all the folks in airports huddled around the AC charge stations... Not me :-) Earlier I said that I would love to bash Moto. Partially that is in regard to their locked boot loader. I work in communications IT (not verizon or Moto), As such I am totally into modding, ROMs, Rooting etc... Truly, so far I see little need to root or opt for ROMs at this point. ICS 4.04 is really rockin' Granted Verizon loads up so much bloatware it's insane... but so far I see no issues. The on-board memory and processor are doing the job. Granted, the 1.2 dual processor is not the newest and fastest. But the perceived speed benefits are minimal. My Quadrant score is killin' at 3198 (if you trust that benchmark program) Anyway... why did I not get the Maxx HD? or S3? simple... the Maxx was on sale. FYI: Best buy delivery was super quick K.... Think that 'bout does it

Rugged and reliable with ALL the features
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have 2 Samsung Galaxy s-3's in our household. They're GREAT phones and the quality and advanced features of those phones prompted me to consider upgrading from my old Droid 2, which is still an excellent phone, just outdated now. The battery life on the Samsung is not good....and the phone doesn't give me the impression that it's highly durably....bot WOW, what features. Enter the Motorola Razr Maxx. It does almost everything the Samsung does (and will probably do EVERYTHING ) as soon as Motorola releases the 4.2 update....something they've promised 1st quarter this year. I'm a HUGE Samsung fan. All my appliances are Samsung, and I'm EXTREMELY happy with each one. I'm sure I'd have liked the s-3 too, and came close going that route. I feel the same way about Motorola phones as I do Samsung appliances. I'v owned several and NEVER had a problem, complaint or broken unit. So it was a tough choice at first. The more I researched the Razr Maxx, the more pleased I was with what it offered. I'm EXTREMELY happy with it and I can go a couple of days between charges while the Samsungs need to be plugged in multiple times a day. Regarding strength, durability and water resistance there's no contest. Motorola all the way. And the car dock....it's a MUST HAVE for this phone. I'm convinced the Motorola system is the best available at this time. Oh, and it didn't hurt that Best Buy did a price match which made this phone quite a bit less than the Samsung. I don't see how anyone could be disappointed with this phone.

overall great phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I are planners and therefore investigate every purchase together to the Nth degree. We're a bit nuts when it comes to sending money. We were in the market for new phones and read up on the Droid Razr line of phones. The previous models were all plagued with terrible battery life...this seemed to be the biggest complaint. When we looked the Razr Maxx, that claimed to have better battery life we were interested, but skeptical. So of course, we look at the battery size compared to the other Razrs and it is almost double of the first Razr. We both end up buying 2 of these phones and are very pleased, so far. We get around 2 full days of battery life. The Android operating system is easy to navigate through and enjoy it better than my blackberry, that I have for work. additionally, this is the first phone I have ever owned that I could use voice activation with out having to repeat myself 10 times, or getting frustrated and give up. So far, I can't say anything negative about this phone.

Excellent piece of technology
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would not recommend getting the geek squad protection plan for this phone as its a rip off. I needed something that was covered under warranty and was denied. They make it sound worth it but its not and cant back it up when you actually need somwthing. Once you learn everything about this phone and the shortcuts, this thing is amazing! The quality of the movies on this screen compared to all other phones i looked at this blows by them including the galaxy s3. The battery life is longer then most. I would say the razr maxxx is a pure entertainment, game and movie phone. Make sure to get the micro hdmi cord and connect it to your tv! Wow!

Great battery life
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A great phone for the battery life alone. Wishing they would have left the task manager on, but they got rid of it with the update. Phone is easy to use and light to carry. Screen is a great size and really like the phone.

Beautiful but a little cumbersome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok, I'll get straight to the point. As a phone, it works well. Texting is also pretty good but I don't like the arrangement of all punctuation being on a separate page from the alphabet. As for the rest of the phone, the camera takes pretty good pictures for a phone. It's not my primary picture-taking device, can you tell? The big deal for me was the ability to sync the phone's contact list and calendar with Outlook. I tried an iPhone, a Windows phone and an earlier attempt with an Android phone. All didn't work well and some not at all. Then I found Android-Sync and tried the Android phone again. While it isn't perfect, it seems to be working adequately. I just shouldn't need to pay an additional $50 to make that happen. I was also disappointed with the ability to snooze calendar reminders for various periods. Then I found Calendar Snooze and after paying for the upgraded version, it now works satisfactorily. I was replacing a 5-year-old Motorola Q that had all of this functionality built into it's Windows operating system. Apparently, MS doesn't thik this stuff is important anymore. Thanks Google, Motorola, Android-Sync and Calendar Snooze! Now I've got a whole phone again.
