Great projector for the size.
||Posted .This is a great projector for the size and coming from the phone. I use it all the time with the kids watching movies. I think it is a little over priced, however motorola is the only company I know of that has these phones so they can charge what ever they want. All in all this is a great mod and I would buy again if I needed. Note, there is not a protection plan for this offered though. It would be nice.

Small package, big performance
||Posted .I was not too sure of this purchase. There were very few reviews and the demonstration models were not very impressive. But the idea and promise sounded great and I had to give it a try. I bought it just before a camping trip to Eastern Washington and thought it might be a cool thing to watch movies outside in the warm Summer nights. Well I fired up the phone/projector and linked it to my Bluetooth speaker and pressed the play button on my phone. WoW the picture was fantastic and the keystone feature took a little while to kick in but once it did we had a brilliant sharp image with booming sound and it all started with this moto mod projector. What a great thing to have movies on a warm night with the family and newly made friends. Convenient, compact and great picture that exceeded my expectations.

Full Moto Z review
||Posted .I needed a new phone for a while. But at the end of the day mine did what I needed it to; social media, photos, and music. So it was hard to get excited about any of the phones out there. I am not a tech guy so it takes a bit to get me interested. Then the Moto Z came out. Different, big fan of different. But I am an AT&T user. So I couldn't get it. Then the unlocked came out. I bought it day one with ALL the mods. I use the extra battery every day. It is nice to go to work then come home and place the battery on a wireless charger and still have a fully charged phone in my hands. The speaker is awesome. I use it on my motorcycle. The projector is useful and fun. Sometimes I just lay in bed a project a show on the ceiling. The camera I have not used yet but I am excited about it. All that being said, my 15 year old asked for a new phone for Christmas. So I bought her the Moto Z play. You will not find a better $400 phone. All in all big fan. Functional, fun, well built, looks great. I will never buy a phone from a service provider again. Get the geek squad protection and enjoy owning your phone.

Must see in person!
||Posted .I've had this projector on my radar for a while now, but its MSRP was a bit exorbitant for my current financial situation. I had read reviews and watched YouTube videos, and everything seemed to point toward this being a great addition to the Motomod lineup. When it went on sale I didn't hesitate to pick it up...and my biggest compliment I can give is...WOW. This projector packs a serious punch...as long as I'm in a semi-darkened room I can utilize it quite effectively. The automatic keystone is quick and accurate and the projector runs rather quite. Its small enough to throw in a jacket pocket and light enough to forget about. I do wish that the projector bulb was replacable, but with an indicated 10,000 hour lifespan I doubt I'll ever get around to worrying about it. All in all, this is one of the coolest mods I've seen for the phone and is a purchase I would certainly make again. If you can find it on sale, its an absolute must-purchase!

Spectacular Little Toy
||Posted .Amazingly powerful little pico projector. I'm very surprised at the picture brightness and quality. Sure, there are pixels, but the thing weighs less than the phone so what can you expect. The projector has an internal battery that lasts about an hour and then the projector draws power from the phone - you can watch a full length movie easily and still have enough battery left to take calls etc. Great for the cabin, camping, hip-pocket work presentation, or a trade show where there's no place to plug in a projector or lap top, and even for Halloween fun. Not for everyday home theater use, but handy nonetheless.

Will buy again if mine breaks
||Posted .Owned for 1 year when reviewed.Ok, this thing is amazing. It been a year and we use it everywhere. When camping we project onto outside wall of RV. In a tent we projected onto the tent ceiling. At the house we lay in bed and project onto ceiling...love just laying in bed and watching the movie on ceiling...zero head and neck strain. We swim in pool and display on bed sheet hanging over fence. On patio with bed sheet as screen. We connect phone to Bluetooth speaker for extra loud action movies for all to hear. I use the CastReceiver App and cast my laptop to my phone which then displays my PC screen through the projector...great for conference rooms without a projector. I highly recommend and hope Motorola continues this line. It really is awesome.

Good while it lasted
||Posted .Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This was a great little projector while it lasted. Full walk videos for outside movie night in a small package. Automatic keystone takes balancing the projector perfectly every time off the table. I say while it lasted because I have used it non stop for over a year. As expected, over time, the bull starts to dim and the automatic keystone began to get a bit off. When I say non stop, I mean, simply because of the screen size and the convenience, this turned into my evening television. Don’t be afraid to buy one, just maybe don’t abuse it like I did.

Q: QuestionCan you project movies from the Insta Share Projector Accessory from Moto Z2 Play onto a 42" flat screen T.V.?
Asked by Avemaria.
- A:Answer I think I understand your question, the projector does not have a video out capability, meaning that you cannot connect the projector to a flat screen TV and have the image display on the TV. This projector will project onto a wall, the ceiling, a white screen (e.g. pull down), white sheet, etc. It functions just like a movie projector. There are other adapters available that will allow you to connect your phone to a TV and send the image to the TV screen.

Q: QuestionI'd love to verify that this will work on Sundays to project NFL RedZone or local games thru the NFL mobile app. Since chromcasting/hdmi are out of the question due to app restrictions, I am looking for a solution to enlarge the size of Sunday football.
Asked by Vantopia.
- A:Answer No. I just tested it and it gives you the same "cant cast message" it does when you try a chromecast. You can download KODI and get the NFL games that way and project them though. The quality isn't as good but at least its big screen.
