Great Product
||Posted .I have Spectrum internet service and choose to purchase my own router/modem. There were many to choose from so i called Spectrum to get their suggested products that would be compatible with their service network. They mentioned several pricey products that would work and support online gaming and streaming which is a plus but not something I necessarily needed. . I had done a bit of research so I asked about the compatibility of the Motorola - N300 Router With Docsis 3.0 Cable Modem. The tech looked it up and told me that it would be more that adequate and came highly recommended. I made the purchase and I am totally satisfied with the reliability and performance.

Comcast Gateway
||Posted .I wanted to replace my Comcast gateway (modem/router) with my own, both to save the rental fee and to provide a greater level of password security. The Motorola MG7310 is essentially a drop-in replacement, so setup was simple and took very little time. I was surprised to find that the Motorola gateway outperformed the Comcast-provided gateway by a significant margin. Download speeds at my location with Blast routinely exceed 40 mbps regardless of the speed test service that I utilize. Since I've installed this gateway (about 3 months ago) I've had zero outages and reset the gateway once; when the power went out. I have four wired components connected, plus four computers and two printers connected through the wifi. The range of the wifi easily reaches all points in our 2-story house, and the speed tests were done through the wifi, not a direct connection. I can't really fault this gateway on anything--it provides security, dependability, and outstanding performance for the whole family at a really great price, so I can recommend this product to anyone with similar needs.

great product
||Posted .Great modem with wifi built in. At first i thought that i had a modem with wireless signal problem was about to return it. However i spoke with my time warner internet provider and i found a few things first for best Wi-Fi signal make sure that you select a channel and not leave it on auto channel. Second reason i was planning to return the modem was it was not getting 200mbps again spoke with provider and found out i should have checked the list for modems that are compatible with time warner 200mbps this modem was list for 100mbps so that was my fault. Last but not least i had parts of my home that were not getting a signal I read online house made with masonry material i would need signal amplifiers i got one and my problems were solved. So i do recommend this product but make sure to check with your provider as far as which modems are compatible with them and at what speeds.

wifi works outstanding
||Posted .had to buy this because we switched from a dsl modem to a cable modem. first off, if you haven't already made the switch to cable high speed. It's so much better then dsl. But this modem works great. I now get 120 mbps through the Ethernet wire hooked up to my desktop. the wifi is impressive too. It reached to my man cave in the garage where our video games are hooked up and the speed test out there is 40 to 50 mbps. considering the router has to go through several doors and walls to project out to the garage about 75 feet away, 40 to 50 mbps is very good. The router does it's job perfectly. We also run 4 phones, a laptop, directv, xbox, and tablets through the wifi (sometimes all at once) and there isn't any slow down on any of the devices.

Great Way to Save $
||Posted .I decided I was paying the cable company too much. The reason was that I was leasing their equipment. At almost $9/mo this made no sense to me. I was throwing money out of the window. I decided to reclaim it by buying my own cable modem. It is a gateway modem, capable of connecting 4 devices directly in addition to WiFi. This Motorola modem is a little behind the times, however: it does not include a 5GHz band. This means that any 2GHz device in the area can potentially cause interference with your wireless Internet connection. I found this out the hard way, because my speed meter used to have download speeds of 20gbps. The interference dropped the speed to a paltry 10-13gbps. This is better than what I achieved with their modem and my old router setup, but still has videos buffering from time to time. I still am glad I liberated that $9 back into my pocket, however. It is a small price to pay for piece of mind.

OK cable modem, marginal router
||Posted .Tried to save money by going with a combi unit; my old service (U-Verse) provided one and it worked fairly well. This unit though had wi-fi signal strength issues. To be fair, the unit was placed at one end of a fairly long house. (Same location as the old one.) However there are no other complicating factors e.g. steel framing. Still streaming was marginal and wi-fi download speeds to my office PC were lower than expected. I returned the unit to Best Buy and bought a separate modem (Arris Surfboard 6141) and router (Netgear R6400) which doubled my download speed and cleared up the streaming difficulties. The new router is also a dual-band unit which is advantageous if you have other devices or neighbors also using the narrow 2.4 gHz band. The 5 gHz band is wider and less crowded. This Motorola combi is probably adequate if it can be placed near the center of a moderately sized home, but I have to say that the advice given in the tech magazines -- separate modem and router are worth the price -- proved to be true in my case.

Works great
||Posted .I needed a simple modem/ wifi router for Comcast and this is working nicely. Haven't had any problems connecting to multiple devices. (Chromecast, game systems, etc.) Would definitely recommend.

Q: Questionhow well does this modem perform if you are streaming movies and gaming online at the same time?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer This is a single band N300 router/modem, so it's not the fastest thing out there. The newer dual band AC1900 and-up routers are considerably faster, but I don't know what's available in high speed gateways (router/modem in one box). I've streamed movies and played single-player games at the same time without any issues, but a seperate router and modem might be a better alternative if you're into intensive game play. You might want to consider a direct hookup for your gaming computer if you're playing some of the newer games that really hog the bandwidth--wifi will always slow down your speeds. How well you make out will depend on the bandwidth that your ISP provides, more than anything--you'll want the highest rated service that they can give you to do streaming and game play simultaneously.
