About time
Posted .Replaced my 9 year old 12 cup Mr Coffee non-programmable due to a half price sale at BestBuy. The swing out coffee filter holder is easy to access, most models load from the top now a days. This basket locks in place, my past model opened by accident more then once. This filter holder needs a larger top hole to remove it quicker. I enlarged mine as another reviewer suggested, and corrected that design mistake before enjoying my first cup. That cup, with added cold milk and sugar was too hot to drink right away. The clock is needed for timer usage but a joke otherwise, too small and not lite as reported by others. Is 900 watts so 2 real size coffee cups, 6 per water gage, takes 6 minutes. My old Mr Coffee was 1100 watts, had thicker plastic, and ran quicker. Ordered Friday, home delivered Tuesday, thanks UPS ! I would suggest buying this over the one switch, non programmable model. I might use that timer some day. And the one button model has a top load coffee filter basket. KCinLA

Great value
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI don't like these types of reviews - especially the negative ones since often berate the product for the owners' errors or ignorance. Most often there are a number of negative reviews that are clearly the result of someone who did not read the owner's manual. In the case of this coffee maker, some negative reports even appear to be the result of them not cleaning the coffee maker correctly before the first use (including one that references the corrosion). Other examples include: This coffee maker shuts off automatically after 2 hours for safety) - NO coffee maker will keep coffee warm when it is off; the clock is as accurate as the power line frequency (accurate to within less than a second / month); this product has a decanter (not a carafe); over pouring any spout will make a mess (re: chemistry 101 lab); using the specified filters (or others that actually fit) prevents grounds from getting in the coffee as well as problems with the drip mechanism when clogged with grounds. Reviews like this are difficult to weigh until after you make the purchase yourself. I included the above to assist others in weighing the reviews entered by others. I would have simply pointed those interested to read the online owner’s manual, but the Mr. Coffee does not make them available online. There are those selling scanned copies of the manuals, but there is no guarantee that they will match the current version of this product. This coffee maker was clearly designed to cost. It does not have sound deadening so you can hear it work. It is not loud, but you can hear it. The materials are light (i.e., thin), but will be durable with little effort on the part of the owner. It is NOT overbuilt, but at this price no one should expect that it would be. It was clearly a real bargain when evaluated realistically.

its good

Quality4 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5This coffee maker is wonderful. It does exactly what it's made to do, make delicious coffee. I love the delay brew feature that allows me to set up my coffee at night and wake up to a freshly brewed cup automatically. This isn't for large families as it only brews 5 cups. But if you're single like me and love pouring up a big cup(s) of coffee then this is the coffee maker for you! No complaints!!

Great Coffemaker for the price
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendMakes great coffee without much hassle. Removable basket is super, since it cleans up quickly. Timer was easy to set up. The shutoff valve is great, so you can get a quick cup before brewing is complete. Easy to fill water canister. What is really great is the 2 hour shutoff if you leave the coffee pot on the burner. This keeps the coffee hot enough and shuts it off if you forget. Some people have complained about the glass pot that it drips, but if you open the lid or pour slower then dripping is not a problem.

Really nice coffee maker
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI was disconcerted when it arrived packaged only in the original manufacturer's box as I was positive something would be broken. Luckily, everything was fine, and we brewed our first coffee the next morning. The first thing I noticed was the taste; I could tell the machine used all the grinds - or a lot more than our previous machine - as it was rich and yummy. The temperature was good with it being hot but not scolding (I am impatient and do not want to blow on my coffee as it cools to hot). We cannot testify towards its longevity with only a month of use. In my book 4 stars is great while 5 stars is knock my socks off. This maker works great, but it starts to do some chores like mopping, I will never give it a 5-star rating.

Nice coffee maker
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis is a nice coffee maker. It is very easy to use and the timer and ability to pour a cup when it is still brewing is very convenient. The one problem I have with it is you can not remove the filter holder from the machine. It makes a big mess when you have to remove the filter and wet coffee grounds. I could remove the holder from the machine I had before and take the whole mess straight to the trash and not dribble water everywhere. It was obviously not designed by some one that has to use it.

Coffee tastes so much better!
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI've had the same Mr. Coffee coffee pot forever, maybe over 30 years. It had no on/off switch, all you had to do was plug it in. The coffee hasn't tasted so great and I didn't know if it had anything to do with the pot, but I finally decided to get this new programmable one. I love it. The coffee tastes great now, so I guess it was the old pot. I've only used it twice so far. On Easter Sunday, I guess I didn't pay attention to the directions, and after 2 hours the appliance shut off. But now I know that. It's actually a good feature if anyone forgets to shut off their pot.

Does the job and is programmable
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI bought this coffee maker mostly for general reliability and programmability. Unfortunately, standard sized paper filters seem undersized. I will procure a permanent filter and all will be well, but did not factor that into the cost. Coffee is prepared rapidly and held at the correct temperature for the two hour timer to be effective with no evidence of overheating. This is not a countertop fashion statement but a solid mostly plastic device.
Q: QuestionHow do I set the clock cor regular time and delay brew. I need to update for date. 12 cup auto model no. BVMC-EVX23. Thank you
Asked by Bill.
- A:Answer To set the clock, press the "hour" button once then the "set delay" button once. "Clock" will be displayed above the numbers. Use the hour and minute buttons to set time taking note of am & pm. After a few seconds "clock" will disappear and time is set. To set time delay for brew, push the "set delay" button twice then set time with hour and minute buttons taking note of am or pm. After a few seconds it will revert back to current time. To turn on delay, push the "On" button twice and green delay light will come on.

Q: QuestionHow do I get the coffee grounds out of there without making a big mess? It looks like the area you put them in doesn't pull out.
Asked by Pandora.
- A:Answer The basket that holds the grounds and filter is hinged (for lack of a better will word) on the left. With the basket open, lift up a bit and it will come loose at the bottom.....gently pull toward you and down....it will loosen at the top and id not confusing!s then removable. Hope this is clear and not confusing.
