Mr. Coffee - 4-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker - Black

Great Unit for a 4 cup coffee maker. It stands 9 1/2 inches tall, 6" wide and 8" deep (NOT counting the handle of the pot which sticks out beyond these measurements). Note the photo which displays a 12 cup next to this 4 cup coffee maker and you can see quite a bit of size difference. This is a super little unit if you only want a 4 cup serving. Tucks nicely away. I purchased it for my RV as I wanted something small and convenient. It serves its purpose well.

I like this coffee maker for easy and quick operation. This unit is small, save space on your counter top and quick brewing time. Also good only for moderate and occasionally coffee drinker lifestyle.

I bought this to replace my old and beloved or cup Mr. Coffee 4 cup brewer. When you make coffee daily, you get into the habit of using the same amount of scoops and water, etc and get used to it should taste like. When using my usual amount of water and coffee, the coffee was weaker with this new brewer. So I did a side-by-side test with my old brewer and realized that the used grounds from the new coffee maker wasn’t saturated completely with water. Upon inspection, the little shower head in the new brewer is almost half the diameter of the old one, forcing the water right down the middle. I am not sure why they would engineer this way, unless to just save on materials. So I will be giving this coffee maker away and keeping my old one. Also, my old one is about twice as heavy, in the entire bottom is made of metal, where as the new one is only plastic.

In about four (4) months the top part of the glass rim / lip broke off and cut me slightly. Although you should bye the warranty--I didn't-- the Best Buy store gave me a $10.00 discount off a new one. This was better for all concerned not to deal with the manufacturer warranty process.

This coffee maker represents the third version of this particular line of Mr. Coffee coffee makers I have purchased over the past 15 years or so. To my mind, there is no better 4-cup drip brewer for the price. The previous two models of this line served me very well and lived reasonably long lifetimes for everyday use. I was actually secretly happy when the most recent coffee maker started making funny sounds and taking extra-long to brew (indicating it was time to get a new one) because a family member had broken the decanter a year-and-a-half ago, and the generic replacement I bought from W*l-M*rt dripped every time I poured coffee. The genuine decanter for this line NEVER drips and is a joy to use. The coffee maker has a very easy to read set of water fill lines on both sides of the machine for accurate measuring. A must-have features for me is pause-and-brew, which insures that I can remove the decanter even if the brewing has not absolutely finished without coffee dripping from the basket onto the hot plate. The other must-have is the built in clock and timer, which I rarely use, but still like to have as an option. At the very least I can glance at the time as I am getting coffee. The hot plate keeps the coffee at just the right temperature and stays on for a reasonable amount of time before auto shut-off. And the price is just right. I love this line of coffee makers and will probably continue to buy them the rest of my life.

Just like any other machine, my coffee was perfectly brewed and easy to clean up. I set up my coffee each night and it's ready when I wake up. Don't feel like waiting? Well pull out the pot and it stops brewing, put it back in and it continues. What more can you ask for? This is a personal coffee maker, if you need one to appease occasional visitors, buy a larger one. When you take into account that you are saving money on wasted coffee, water, counter space, and a larger heating surface you really can't complain. I saw a complaint about a plastic taste and grounds spilling. That taste may be the result of using the machine without rinsing it first. As with anything else, it just came from a factory. You can expect the first 1-3 cups to taste odd until regularly used. It's also important you buy the right size filter for this so your grounds don't spill. You also should regularly rinse the holder cup. Sometimes it get's clogged with grains from previous cups or plastic from the factory. This would cause the coffee to spill into your cup. I rated it a 4 on durability because it will last you 3-4 years, then you will have to buy another one. They just stop working. No clue why. Maybe it's my water? I am on my third one in about 15 years.

I LOVE this coffee maker. It is durable and makes great coffee. I am the only coffee drinker in my house, so the pot makes about two mugs worth of coffee which is a perfect amount for me. Also, cudos to Best Buy. I walked in to buy it and noticed that they their price was $5 more than Wal Mart. Without hesitation the sales person walked over to a computer and confirmed that Wal Mart was indeed selling it for $5 less. She immediatly matched Wal Mart's price and I walked out a happy customer.

Mr. coffee is easy to use and I use this coffee maker every morning. This product is long lasting.
