I work in film and tv. My production company has been using Mac's for last 15 years... So this is our first step back to the PC world. But I just couldn't justify spending more money for another MacBook that wouldn't be able to handle 4K on the road. So we're using this for a reality show tv series where we need to ingest and crunch proxies as quickly as possible. It's not like you can easily carry this around as your everyday computer, but for this purpose I'm trading weight for performance. This is HEAVY, but it also PERFORMS. Two large brick power supplies y into the back.

This thing performance wise is amazing. Can max out anything you throw at it and not get that loud, granted you can enable turbo fan speed or max fan speed through the BIOS. Very fast, very easy to set up. Much better and quieter than my 2 year old Alienware which was pretty awesome but the cooling was not as good and when you were getting performance the fan was loud. This unit is very well packed, the pre-Installed bloatware is actually helpful minus Norton which is easy to remove. Dragon Center is very user friendly and actually makes slowing the processor and GPU down via hot key very easy and you can set your own plans and hot keys depending on your activities. Want to game, no problem, on the go and need more battery life, NO PROBLEM. Now ONTO THE MAJOR FLAW, That would have actually docked it another point than it did if everything else was not so awesome. There are two power supplies kind of daisy chained together with a piece that connects to a box which connects to the laptop.. The piece that connects to the box is not to bad, But the piece that connects to the laptop reminds me of the old cheap ps2 mouse and keyboard cables that connected to older computers where the pins broke all the time. Those pins unfortunately are the things sticking out of the laptop. For the $4399 I spent on this laptop the one thing that should not have been cheeped out on was the power connection to the laptop. If you keep it on your desk in one spot all day it's fine, but on my bed or couch (it is a laptop) The piece connecting the the laptop keeps falling out. Even simply moving it the connection to the laptop does not get tight enough, and the pins they are using I am afraid they are going to easily break. And some laptops I can understand why there needs to be 2 power supplies, but you can also connect only one to some and just get limited power, This one has the two bricks literally daisy chained together. Sell an extra power adapter that's more powerful with more wattage this would get 5 stars easy. Overall, I am loving this laptop, just hope the extended or manufacturers warranty covers this power connector if it breaks.

Bought this for my daughter. (Studying Music and Video in college) She LOVES it! It has all the power she needs but it is lightweight and compact. She is not a gamer but this laptop would be great for that.
