if you compare hardware and price ratio to other b
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Me coming from always having 17inch laptops, I been in it since Toshiba had the qosmio and its a treat to see how far we have come; my laptop prior was a gs70 and it did what it was meant to do, and that’s gamer aesthetics and function, but not a lot of power; now I happen to get a high end one that of course looks silly, but also makes people envious. The keyboard is gorgeous and they improved on the Chiclet and the colors are vivid. The screen is a total jump in the right direction; although I didn’t get a 4k monitor which is fine because I know that would ultimately cost towards price, power, and I rather have a 4k monitor that’s bigger than 17 inches, let’s be real. the hardware is nothing but awesome; I was putting all my games on medium at best on the gs70 but now 3 generations later I can crank it up to max; even the current gen games and with vram to spare. The fans aren’t too loud and there are enough I/O to satisfy the average consumer with an average desk. Build quality is very very sturdy; the brushed metal is dark and is enough to plate the plastic to prevent flexing and the hinge is so smooth to open the laptop. This is one looker you have to see in person to kind of appreciate the workmanship. I was looking at the g752 because the color scheme is among my new favorites but they didn’t have the 1080, unless you want the liquid cooled sli 1080 g800vx laptop for at least 5000 dollars, no thanks. And I saw a demo of the alienware 17 and I found it to be very plastic oriented and had a very old style that they kept for a while so that was not an option. I know what many people always complain about is +3k for a laptop when u can make your own desktop for at least half? Well let’s just say good luck trying to convince people to never buy laptops, because there’s going to be a demographic that wants the literal "all-in-one" package. for those on a budget, fine you can build your own desktop and buy everything individually or second hand; but now I think is a good opportunity that MSi recently revamped their gt72 to be the cheaper of the bunch or their gs63 is half the price with a 1060 so its ultimately up to what peoples' threshold of how much they want to spend towards what they are using it for, but at least i know now, i can upgrade with mxm cards; so the gap between laptops and desktops are becoming smaller and smaller by the year.
