Customers enjoy the high performance and solid build quality of the GS76 17.3" QHD 240hz Gaming Laptop, praising its large, vibrant screen and generally good battery life. However, some users experienced issues with heat and fan noise, particularly during intensive gaming sessions. A few also noted minor concerns about the keyboard layout and CPU temperatures under heavy load.

I was debating between this and the 360HZ model for the same price. I decided this one because of the QHD resolution. Was disappointed as the icons were too small and some older software that will never be updated were really screwed up on appearance. So I ended up setting my default resolution to 1920 x 1080 as in all standard 17.3" displays. Then all was fine and I liked it so much for the price point I ordered 2 more. During the shipping time the 360HZ model went on sale for $200 less, at that point I knew I was going to return all 3 and purchase the 360HZ models to save $600. They stated on the ad there was 1 less USB 3.0 port on the 360HZand that is NOT the case. If the other one had not went on sale I would have kept these three. My only grip is the keyboard HOME and END keys require pressing the awkwardly placed FN key. So my fix to that was PowerToysz and assigned the Scroll Lock and Insert keys to Home and End and further assigned the a specific color on the Steel Series Per Key color assignment. Has an extra M2 slot as well.

It is sleek, thin, and noticeably more durable than the outgoing GS75. I bought this on launch back in August and it has been basically problem free for me as of the date of this review. There is minimal flex and the edges are all smooth. Speakers are huge improvement but slightly behind compared to ASUS offerings. I did immediately swap out some stuff. The SSD was 1TB Western Digital Gen 4 and RAM pair was Samsung 3200MHz kits originally. I swapped out to Samsung 980 PRO 2TB and Crucial 2x32GB kit. The RAM I had trouble getting it to 3200MHz; but the timings are much faster than the Samsung and will perform similar according to a RAM timings calculator. I also use this laptop with a RAZER thunderbolt 4 dock and it works great like 99% of the time. Sometimes my external display disconnects; uncertain the root cause of this issue.
