Can not see my network.
Posted .The extender can't see my home network despite my phone getting full bars in the same location. It sees my neighbor's networks no problem.

A little hard to setup but does the job
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThere wasn't any instruction in the box other than a card saying insert the CD and run the installation software. I followed the instruction in the installation software, and it detected my extender and freezes when trying to configure it. I ended up connecting it directly to my computer with a CAT5 cable and manually setting it up by going to 192.168.1.1. I think the problem with the installation software was that my router is not from Linksys, so it was on a different default subnet which was at 192.168.10.1. Once it's setup, it does the job. It's not choppy when I view videos on YouTube in a room far away from my router. The extender doesn't block the whole electric outlet, which is nice. I plugged it in on the bottom plug and am still able to use the top plug of the outlet.

Mediocre performance...
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThere's not much that I can say about this extender other than the fact that it seemed to have no discernible effect on the coverage of wireless signal in the house. Furthermore, the installation process without a computer (ie via tablet) is a bit buggy and not quite as simple as you'd hope out of a relatively basic product. Due to the fact that I personally returned mine after using it for 2 days without any visible improvement on wifi coverage, I'm on the wire as to whether this product is worth recommending or not. However, due to the odd construction of the house, and the relatively poor quality of the router we were working with at the the time, I can't be sure that this product won't work for you. So, with the above caveat, get it if you think this might work for you and make sure you stay within your return window while testing it in case you come to the same conclusion that I did. All of that being said, I would instead suggest just getting a higher quality router. Most high-end N-band and most AC-band routers now-a-days have exceptional range and data transfer rates. For the price of this product and an additional $30, you won't only get better coverage, but you'll probably see significantly less signal degradation around the house as well. Remember, an extender doesn't make your signal magically renew itself, it simply amplifies the signal that it is receiving (sort of). So, in essence, if it's already receiving a bad signal, it will only boost the range of said signal, not make it any better - a good router would solve a lot of these issues. *This suggestion is based on the fact that you might be working with a service provider's low end router or one you have been knocking dust off for years. If you've recently upgraded to a good N-band or AC-band router and you still aren't getting the coverage, then maybe this product could be for you*. I hope this helped, and best of luck finding what you need.

Does what it is supposed to do
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI purchased this product to improve the range of my wireless network. My router is located upstairs so the signal has a hard time reaching the garage. This product accomplished that goal, but it is fairly particular about where it is located in relation to the router. I would've preferred it to be out of sight out of mind, but the signal wasn't strong enough. The directions say it should be in the middle between the source and your target area. I would say that is fairly accurate. Maybe a little less than half is better. Overall I am still pleased with this purchase. It does what it is designed to do even if I had to place it in a less than ideal location.

Good range extender
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendWe have a AT&T Uverse router and the wifi signal is lousy. I can barely get a bar when sitting 20 feet away in another room. I daisy chained a Linksys router to the AT&T router and got a better signal throughout the house, but still didn't get a solid one in our upstairs bedroom on the opposite side of the house. So, I got the range extender and now I get a solid signal throughout the house, including our bedroom. The only tricky part of the setup is the extender has to be located near enough to the router to get the router wifi, but not too close. Because the AT&T router is so lousy, we sometimes lose the signal from it to the extender causing us to move the extender or reboot the router. I think it is more an issue with the AT&T router, but it causes the signal to not be as reliable as I'd like it to be.

Seems to do its job well
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThe main thing I like about this device - besides that it works - is that it integrates nicely into your home without looking like an IT shop with wires and antennas everywhere. It plugs right into an outlet.

Good Product
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis product has lived up to its expectations. We have our wireless router on the main floor, so we were having problems streaming shows in the basement. After I purchased this product, I did not have any problems.

Good but with limitations
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendImmediately after setup I noticed improved signal strength. The unit worked well with all of the devices for about a month. For some reason my HP 8600 wireless printer started having problems. When I ran the printer status report I found out the problem. The printer was detecting two routers with the same ssid. I couldn't find a work around so ended up returning the device. Had the printer had a work around I would have the router.
Q: QuestionDoes this product create a 2nd internet connection?I purchased the netgear brand and am going to return it within the next few days, it caused problems with my internet connections. It also created a second internet connection to my wireless network, my network-EXT. Does this devices extend the wireless network or create a seperate connection like the netgear device?
Asked by Rob.
- A:Answer NO--it only extends your current wifi connection to cover more area--in other words if you're having trouble getting the signal in an area of your home that is far away from your router, then you would put this extender halfway between the the router and the area where you need to increase the signal strength, and it will just help the signal to reach that area with better signal strength so that you can use the wifi in that area of your home.

Q: QuestionI have a linksys 3000w wireless extender and worked fine until my old centurylink modem died and I had to replace it. Tge new modem has a built-in wI have lost my paperwork for the re3000w extender and lost my user name and pw. with my new modem it has built in wireless feature. Can anyone help me as to recover the re3000w info? Many thanks, Robert

- A:Answer To get the manual for the router google it and or go to the manufacturer's website with the model number and the serial number. YOu can't recover any information from the old router unless you know the user name and password. The only choice you have is to reset the device to factory settings and start over reconfiguring it as an extender.
