A few glitches in a good game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.NCAA Football and real coach namesOverall NCAA 12 is a great game nice looking presentation as usuall the game play overall is good . The running game require a slashing style of running to get the most out of it. The passing game seems to be somewhat inaccurate as while playing with OU Landry jones could only complete 9 0f 31 passes. amd as usual it semm CPU pass blocking is far more efficient than the user blocking. The multiuser offline dynasty game require a lot of work to set up as you have to go ing the coaching mena and edit the Coach to add more than one team. (BTW EA support will not help you with this issue but their user forum gave me the answer) Good news is the accurate coach names are not installed in the game But you still need to dl or create named rosters I used files from gamingtailgate a free dl from a game user. Kicking game is good and it seems the reaturn game is a bit better this year. soem of the play by play glitches occasionally If you love NCAA football The game is worth picking up.

Great realism
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is outstanding, a great improvement from last year. The graphics are outstanding. I love the 3D grass. The tackling looks very real. I can tell they spent time on this game. I'm sure they're already working on next year. GOOD JOB EA!

EA Sports needs competition
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the downsides of having only video game developer having the rights to the NCAA is that there is no reason to improve from previous versions. The biggest complaint with NCAA Football 11 was the cover zone defense, a feature that was drastically improved in this version of NCAA Football. Also, this game introduces the new tackling system, which starts the tackle upon contact and not due to an animation. Everything else after that are weakness. In programming for improved pass coverage, the developers have created "super" LBs and psychic DBs. The CPU AI reacts to the player's pressed button and not to the movement of the user control player or the football. This could be annoying to players looking for realism. One of the additions to this game is coaching carousel and the option to the user to start as a coordinator instead of being the head coach. This allows the user the ability to move freely between programs and become a prestigious head coach. Unfortunately, there are some glitches when it comes to recruiting on Franchise Mode as a coordinator, which could impede your ability to improve the program you are involved with. EA sports introduced HDR lighting in this game, which preserves the contrast regardless of the conditions. Additionally, the lighting would be different depending on the angle from which the player is being viewed from. There are some weaknesses with this system also. Some players may look to be in a shadow when they are not, and completely took away from the realism of players getting dirty uniforms and the wear of the field as the game progresses. Road to Glory could be a headache. Sometimes the camera angles could make gameplay annoying (since it is only focusing on one player) and the AI's playcalling is dumbfounding. The lack of realism in this mode makes it impossible to want to keep playing it. The only reason some players even attempt to play in this mode is to get the trophies and badges. For those of you that liked to celebrate with mascots when scoring on NCAA 11, that feature has been removed in NCAA 12. Lastly, one of the biggest problems has been with online play, especially with those players that are involved in online dynasties. Problems with data being transferred and the online dynasty getting stuck on a certain week have been constant. EA sports claims to be working on the problem, but it is not fast enough, given that the game has been on the market for >3 months. If you decide to purchase this game, I would recommend that you learn how to use the sliders and adjust them to your gameplay. The only way we will get a quality product from EA sports is when a competitor enters the fray and the rights are not hugged by one developer. I would save the $60 and wait for a frustrated player to give up his copy for $20 less.

Another money maker
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is the same as years before it. Very difficult to complete a pass, kick off run backs are just too hard to get passed the 20yd line. Presentation is good and graphics are good as well. EA still have control of how many passes you can complete, fumbles you will have, how many INT you will have, and so on. This game could have been a great game but there are just too many unfair settings against you. If you have a player with great speed on a so called poor team, EA setup makes sure that that player run much slower against those so called better teams. Often time’s players on poor team run backward or sideways so good team can stop you. thanks to EA unfair settings. These issues is also visible in madden10, 11, and will be visible in madden 12. I would not pay 64.00 for this game or madden12 as well. I also did not buy M11. Wait and read the review and wait until the price is cheaper.

Great game worth $60
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great game and is well worth the $60 bucks despite it not being a huge change from NCAA 11 which isn't a bad thing. The 2 problems I have are the crowds and overall audio is not as loud as it should be while using a 5.1 setup. The fans need to be louder and more involved just like they are in real life. Hopefully it will be fixed with a patch. Also the graphics when playing aren't as great as they are with cut scenes. The gameplay has improved specially with the new tackle system. It feels more real.
