Q: What is difference between first and second generation google mini?
A: I did a bunch of research before buying the google nest mini 2nd gen, so here’s my take. I already have 3 gen 1 minis in my home, and have even gifted a few. I can positively say that the 2nd gen is MUCH better. It’s a lot more sensitive to “hey google,” so much so that I’ve tried mumbling and muffling my voice just to test it and it worked! There is a mute button on the 2nd gen that comes in handy. It also has a little spot on the underside that lets you hang it up instead of leaving it on a table- this furthers its ability to hear you better.
Q: Does it worth it if you already own a Google home mini (1st Gen)???
A: I say yes.. Both the sound and Google assistant are so much better, those two make the upgrade worth it alone.
Q: Will it work as a stand-alone or is another device required?
A: It syncs with an app on your phone, so that and Wifi is pretty much needed.
