Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Internet, SpeedExcellent modem. Seems to work great with my NetGear Orbi mesh wifi system. Provides a strong signal throughout the whole house. I get a consistent signal as my internet provider claims (400 Mbps). I'm very happy with both NetGear products. Note: this modem is for use with a cable provider like Spectrum in my case. This will not work for fiber or dsl system providers).

A must Have
|Posted .Pros mentioned:Set up, SpeedI upgraded my Motorola SB-6141 because speeds drop frequently. I was researching for other brands since I only Used Motorola brand modems. I decided to try the Netgear CM-700 because of its price,Downstream and upload channels. Ever since the install, speeds been very good no drops at all.lights on modem are green and doesn’t illuminate the whole room like the Motorola modem. I do recommend this router if you want great speeds for streaming, gaming, and connect multiple devices at once.

So easy to install!!

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Set upI expected 2 things: 1) A nighare trying to get it provisioned on my ISP network. 2) I was going to lose speed because it wasn't their product. Wrong on both counts. Setup was very easy, no issues with cable company, and after checking the bandwith, it was the same as I had prior.

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5If you are a Spectrum internet user...Stop using and PAYING a monthly fee for the use of their Modem. Great to have this item and get rid of the monthly modem rental fee. This item will really make you happy after your purchase. Just check the list of modems for your area from the Spectrum web site (or call Spectrum) and purchase away. Step up is easy after you get home and then call Spectrum for easy step up with this.

Q: QuestionDoes this have wifi?
Asked by Bel.
- A:Answer No. This is just a cable modem. You will need a wireless router to pair with it. Make certain any wireless routers you may have but are not using are turned off to avoid a Double-NAT issue (which essentially means you are broadcasting two wireless networks on the same IP from your Internet Service Provider). If you already have a modem/router combination running (it seems to be standard issue to install them in the States now and charge customers monthly leasing fees), make sure to contact your service provider and inform them that you will be using your own cable modem and/or wireless router so they can place the one they gave you in Bridge Mode to avoid a Double-NAT issue. I'd also recommend turning in any equipment you are not using to avoid paying monthly fees and just use your own cable modem and wireless router/mesh system, Hope this helps.

Q: QuestionWill this modem work with Xfinity gigabit internet? They are telling me I need 3.1 DOCSIS ...but their Technician when out for installing it can do it? Sounds fishy and they just want to charge me $70 to install.
Asked by Timobi.
- A:Answer Yes it does work with Xfinity GB internet. I just set mine up with it and it works great. Full 1GB speeds. It is DOCSIS 3.1. Yes, they do want to send a technician out for the initial install of GB service. Why I have no idea. They sent one out to me as well to install their own Xfinity modem. It was something I could have done easily. I then replaced their modem with the Netgear 1150V and just followed the Netgear instructions. It all took maybe 15 minutes or so. Piece of cake. It's just some Xfinity policy to send somebody out and charge you right now for GB install even though they are not running new wiring, fiber or anything. Luckily for me or perhaps not, They were late. Very late. So I got the $20 credit for them missing the window and they credited me $40 also for the install fee! So I made $20 for the install. Just had to wait around all day for them. So much for their 2-hour commitment appointment window....

Q: QuestionThis posting says 1000mbps but the manufacturer information says it supports up to 400mbps. so whats the actual speed limit?
Asked by dillz.
- A:Answer That'll depend on how your ISP uses it, but it's probably closer to 400mbps. The maximum theoretical for DOCSIS 3.0 32x8 (this modem's spec) is 1200mbps, but that's before accounting for expected line noise and reality. My ISP (RCN) considers this to be more then enough for the 300mpbs tier, but insufficient for 500mbps or above tiers (for which they want a DOCSIS 3.1 modem).
