Great WiFi
|Posted .I have replaced several routers and access points, but AC1750 finally meet my and my business customer needs. I could also use these as access points and that worked out well for me having a hotel business.

Great Range!
|Posted .Pros mentioned:Connection quality, Home use, RangeLove my new router! The range is awesome! I can even pick up a signal at my neighbors house across the street. Easy to install, love the user ID & password being on the router itself, makes it easier for my family to use. So glad I spent a little more this time on a router that has a greater range & with more device capacity. I hope this one will last us for a while! Thanks Best Buy for another great product & for having the most helpful, knowledgeable employees to help me in the store when I needed them.

Outstanding Router!
|Posted .Pros mentioned:Home use, Range, Set upI bought this router to replace my aging Netgear N600. This router has exceeded my expectations in every single way! -I has just silly fast data transfer rates. -The range is awesome, It reaches everywhere in my house, and downstairs into my parking garage, and it covers a good share of my yard outside. -Setup was super easy, and the "Nighthawk app" makes control effortless. -At any given time there are 7-8 devices running through this router (2 smart TV's, 3 phones, 3 tablets, 3 laptops, wireless printer, 2 Roku's, and several gaming consoles)...I have NEVER come even close to choking the performance of this router. -And in my opinion, this thing just looks cool too. The ONLY negative that some may find is, it's a pretty big piece of hardware, I don't mind it at all, but if your going for the "minimalist" look, you'll have to find a way to hide it...

Ad pop up appears on every logon into router
|Posted .Owned for 1 year when reviewed.I'd give this a high rating but Netgear needs to fix this nuisance. Every time time I log into the router an ad pop up appears. "Enable Smart Parental Controls on Your Router". I log in often and it's a royal pain to have to close this nonsensical advertisement for their parental smart controls.

Quality Router
|Posted .After thoroughly reviewing various routers on the market, this one seemed the best and we have not been disappointed. We constantly had to reboot our old router and have had absolutely no problems with this one since we purchased it.

Q: Questionwireless range signalI have a fairly large house, how far can the wireless signal goes up to?
Asked by pat.
- A:Answer I have a two floor house and have signal everywhere, even outside. It's worth noting that the 5GHz band has a shorter range and you should use this for devices that support it and are fairly close to the router. The 2.4GHz band will have a better range but may suffer from some interferences that the 5GHz band does not.

Q: QuestionIs this easy to set upDo you have to delete old router from your computer before hooking this up
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer No you can setup the same exact network name and password on new router. And you will not have to enter in New network stuff to all your devices.

Q: QuestionWith an internet speed of 200 mbs, what is the best type of wifi router to consider
Asked by Cook.
- A:Answer First things first. The answer depends on the rest of your devices that you want to use and how far away they are from the wireless access point of the router. 802.11g wireless devices max out at 54mbs 802.11n wireless devices max out at 450mbs 802.11ac wireless devices max out at 1330mbs No device can go faster than your internet provider will allow it to go. (A 802.11ac device will not go faster than 200mbs when it is connected to an internet connection of 200mbs.) The other thing to consider is how many wireless devices will be used at the same time. If you want to use more than one at the same time then you may want to get a MIMO (multiple input multiple output) wireless router. 2x2 = 2in 2out. 3x3 = 3in 3out. MIMO routers have multiple antennas. If all the devices are in the same room then you can use just a wireless router. If your devices are at opposite ends or on multiple floors of a building then you may be better served with a mesh system. Google WiFi, Nest Connect and eero are all mesh systems. Mesh systems use multiple access points that are placed throughout a building in locations that are in the same rooms that you will be using your wireless devices. Some mesh systems connect their wireless access points together wirelessly using a 3rd channel. Others ues hard wiring to connect the access points. So it all boils down to how much do you want to spend, how much work do you want to do to set it up, how big of a system do you need and how long do you expect it last. (New standards come out that are better than the old ones. There is a new standard being developed as I write this.)

Q: QuestionHow does the computer receive the signal from the wireless router do I need to buy some sort of anttena
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The router has antenna's which "push" and "receive" data across your network to your computer and other network devices. Some routers have one antenna, some have 2, some have 6, etc. Some of them even have antenna's built inside the router so you can't see them. Your computer has a wireless card with has it's own built in antenna (which you can't see), and it communicates with the router. Together, your computer and router use their pre-existing antenna's to send data back and forth. So- the short answer to your questions is No. Unless you live in a large house (or have multiple walls/floors which can cause the signal to have trouble making it through), you do not need to buy some sort of antenna.

Q: QuestionIs the router DOCSIS 3.0 compatible?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Routers do not interface with DOCSIS but they will be able to network with a DOCSIS modem. Modems are responsible for receiving the signals from the cable line which is needed in order to get internet from a cable internet provider such as Xfinity. Modems are the ones that use DOCSIS. Routers on the other hand, are responsible for spreading internet access across multiple devices. For example, through wireless signals. In order to connect multiple computers to the internet in a home or office you will need both a modem and a router. I hope this helps!

Q: QuestionI get periodic 5 minute dropping of just my wireless signal, not the wired signal. Any ideas?
Asked by Drew.
- A:Answer Do you have other wireless devices in the home? Maybe getting interference from other electronic devices even from the neighbors. If you have a cordless phone in the home operating on the 2.4ghz it could be interferring also. I recommend going into wireless setup and change the channel it is operating on. Typically the wireless channel is set to auto. If it is try channel 11, 6, or 7 and see if that helps. Not sure what best channel is for 5g band, sorry... Good Luck!!!
