Use to need wired internet
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This item enabled me to connect an older computer, that previously needed to be connected to the internet with an ethernet cable, wirelessly. Super easy to use. All you need is an available USB port. I am now able to email docs and photos to my new laptop. Great tool!

Pretty Good But Could Be Cheaper
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was a bit tricky to get working at first since it was my first time having to set one up. It's been mostly good. It mainly is supposed to be set up with a disc drive but can be set up without one. Can be used in a 2.0 port but is mainly built for a 3.0 port. Computer recognized it fast. Was a bit expensive but since it was necessary if you don't have immediate access to your router I can't complain too much.

Good Buy for the average User
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used a WNDA3100v.3 dual band Netgear WiFi receiver for about 10 years or so. It was an excellent WiFi receiver up to approx. 300' and only lost contact with the router on rare occasions. This new receiver also a dual band, has so far lost contact with the router which is about 120' away no less than 4 times since I bought it a month ago. In all 4 cases, it felt very warm to the touch and I suspect that it was shutting itself down for heating reasons so it wouldn't burn itself out or catch fire. For the casual user, on the internet for a few hours per day, this is probably sufficient. But my computer is on for an average of 17 hours per day and sometimes for stretches of 24 to 36 hours at a time. I would not want to trust this small of a receiver to that much use unless I was led to believe that it would be able to handle it. In fact, it apparently is not able to handle that kind of use. I would only recommend this WiFi model to a friend who uses their computer only for a few hours at a time in order to allow the receiver to cool down.

Wow! Wi-Fi!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It started off working well, then it completely stopped. I’m no tech wizard, but I actually figured out the problem and it works even better than expected. In a place not expected to be placed.

Uploads didn't work well.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked fine until you tried to upload(downloading seemed fine) a large file and would stop working. When you would touch it would be very hot so assuming it was overheating, would work fine again after being removed for a while(cooled down). Had bought this after a cheap one was doing the same.

A good product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this item for my desktop PC. As it is impractical to run an Ethernet cable from the PC's location to the router, I went this route and got this item. It works ok. My speed is slow, but considering the environment the product is in, I am not docking it for the performance. One reason I am giving it a high rating is that it is compatible with N networks, which is what I have. This is a product designed for AC networks, but it is backwards compatible with N networks as well. That was the selling point for me. There are also a few walls and obstacles between the adapter and the router, so I am not too surprised at the slow PC Internet performance. All in all, I recommend this product. The installation is quite easy to follow (make sure you follow it! Taking a shortcut will be trouble), and I expect that the performance will be top notch if the product is used to its full potential.

Q: QuestionCan I use this to connect tv to wifi network?
Asked by Efra.
- A:Answer No, This is a adapter to connect a computer that does not have built in wireless adapter, software will need to be installed when using this adapter, TV can not accept software to work with adapter. Most smart TV's have a USB port, it's used for photos to be displayed on TV, not for use with WiFi adapter.

Q: QuestionI need WiFi internet access for my rv. We are starting up our building maintenance business and can't always find a hotspot. Is there a cheap data provider and what equipment do I need for laptop
Asked by Dragongranny4.
- A:Answer Might want to turn your cell phone into a hot spot, check with cell provider for rates and if they provide that service. Warning: If you have a cell provider and use it as a hot spot, be advised Data rates will apply if you go over you cell Data plan. If your laptop has a built-in wifi adapter, just turn on and find your cell hot spot and long in.
