Best Router
|Posted .Cox communication recommends this router. I have multiple users and multiple devices and it can bogg down the speed but this router replaces the internet company router and the wifi router all in one.

Great router nodem fast and easy to use
|Posted .This is a very good router modem it works fantastic the range is very high and the speed is amazing I had 50mb so I upgraded to 100mb with this modem router is even much better and fast, I'm using time warner so they rent the modem which was slow speed and range, so I decided to buy my own one so I don't pay them for rent and the modem they give you is not so good like this one, so is better to buy it your own one and if you want to have a good router modem I recommend this one a little more money than the other ones but you will be happy with it, you also can manage it from your pc smart phone and do a lot of things, I really like it so much I'm happy with it....

big improvement if your area supports it
Posted .I bought this to improve performance during peak hours. (I imagine not much difference if there weren't so many users) For comparison - I was using an SB6141 prior - and now I'm getting much more stable performance. I think my latency is a little worse connecting to my old router - but should be closer if I connect directly to the primary. Bonus: Since it's also a router in-one. I went ahead and split my devices onto separate networks - to ease congestion. SmallNetBuilder has a great series on networking basics which covers how to do this. Be sure to change the IP sub-range (192.168.xx.1) to prevent IP conflicts. *How to check if your area supports it? (if you go to 192.168.100.1 - that should give you access to your cable modem. If you see the channels 8+, odds are you have more to bond to. Although you can keep restarting your modem and see all the different ones it connects to)

Q: QuestionWhat is the range of the Wi-Fi and how good is it with Comcast
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I have Xfinity and it works very well... and don't worry about calling them to activate it. Simply log on once it's connected and it can be activated online. So far, so good!

Q: QuestionI have comcast triple bundle. Will this work for their phone service (landline).
Asked by Robin.
- A:Answer No -- if you want the phone service, you'll have the rent the box from Comcast. It is my understanding that no third party purchased units will work with their phone service. You may be able to buy the box directly from Comcast and avoid the monthly fee.

Q: Questiondoes it work with cox cable internet?
Asked by Lynne.
- A:Answer Technically, yes although I can't get it to stay connected more than 8 hours at a time. It is still very buggy it seems & plenty of other users have seen the same thing if you do some searching.

Q: QuestionNot so computer savvyI've got a large house and my current modem and router are set up in the center of my house. Service though Comcast is spotty. Does this need to be set up anywhere in particular? Also does it affect my current connection? Can this be used specifically for one computer in my house?
Asked by Just me.
- A:Answer I bought this same router/modem combination a few months ago. We went from 15mbps to 50mbps with Time Warner. We have a 3,000 sq ft house. We had a lot of problems with it being too slow, not being able to be picked up in 2 rooms over. It is mounted on top of our china cabinet in the dining room, which is about center of the house. My daughter called Netgear and they were very helpful in walking her through some system changes. We can now pick up the internet upstairs, in the garage, and even at a low level, in our small separate garage. Not sure what they had her change but they were almost going to send us a new one, thinking it might be defective. My suggestion is to call Netgear support and have all your information ready and let them see if they can help. Time Warner isn't the most reliable service, and we thought that might be it, but not this time. Haven't had any issues since. Good Luck.
