Extends range, fast, and reliable.
||Posted .Owned for 3 months when reviewed.Upgraded from a last gen nighthawk… this does what it says and extends range reliably in a medium sized house without too much speed sacrifice, although satellite routers are a bit slower, but still in the hundreds of Gbps. Using dozens of connected devices on a gigabit connection, and it never chokes. Would recommend and seems to be of decent value for price without going super high end.

Worth the price? Probably
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.I've used the Xfinity wifi pods for about 2.5 years and they worked just fine for about one year. Then, they just didn't ever seem to keep the wifi feed active throughout the house so I started looking for other options. The house is a two-story, 3200 sq foot home that is apparently built well enough that wifi has a difficult time penetrating several rooms. This Nighthawk mesh system replaced three Xfinity pods that, on a good day, gave me about 65 Mbps. I only pay for 100 Mbps, and over the past 10 days the Netgear mesh has consistently given about 100 Mbps when my VPN is off; 65 Mbps with VPN on. Of course, it varies a bit depending on the device and its wifi capability--none of my devices are ax. But, when I tie an old i3 desktop that typically has a wifi max of about 28 Mbps to a Netgear satellite via ethernet, it receives in excess of the 100 Mbps I'm paying for. Best of all, this mesh system seems to route traffic much better than the pods I was using; the main smart tv (an old LG WebOS) used to constantly buffer so I always ended up routing traffic through a Roku device. With this Netgear system's satellite nearby I haven't had any buffering challenges with the TV at all. It's pricey, but may be worth it if your home is large, has difficult wifi areas, and you have numerous devices. The only complaints so far are the bright blue LED "on and working" indicator that is difficult to disguise, especially if near a TV, and the cooling vents on top of the satellites look pretty cool BUT look dusty even when they are clean. Performance overwhelms these minor complaints so far.

Absolutely amazing.
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Exceeded expectations. Just moved to 10acres and had to replace our old wifi so we went with this product... Low and behold, with the 3 wifi points inside our house, we can now get wifi on our entire property. The photo attached was taken while on wifi with a on roughly 100M speed test, you can see the house in the background... Did not expect this, but am thoroughly happy by it. We won't have to research outdoor APs for awhile now.

Useless keep away
||Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.Thought Netgear was a safe choice but nope. Set this up and everything was working fine for a day or two but it went down hill. I started having connects and disconnects throughout the day even thought light never changes color, was constantly with support to try and resolve it. Images show how it degraded slowly. I don’t write reviews but this trash deserves one. RETURNED

Have to restart router way too often.
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.I have to restart this thing 3+ times every week. Each time I connect a new device, either the network blows up and all devices become offline, or the new device remains invisible in the network, which I need to restart. From time to time my satellite connection to the main router becomes super unstable and the whole router needs restart. Sometimes the router just mysteriously disconnects from the Internet and doesn't connect back, and needs restart. I haven't had to restart so many times in such a short timeframe in the entirety of my life owning other routers. Also it is inconvenient to not be able to manually manage the network map. I know where my satellites and routers are so I know what the best way is to connect among them. However, I cannot customize it, and my satellite always tries to connect to The far-away router instead of to a closer satellite, so that connection is the most unstable in the entire house. Trying to be smart but failed. Would not recommend.

Best and Fastest WiFi Experience Ever!
||Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.I recently decided to upgrade my mesh WiFi system from Samsungs Smart Home mesh (it was ok) to the Netgear Nighthawk AX3600 Mesh WiFi (AMAZING!) and it’s been by far the best decision I’ve made. This WiFi is not only blazing fast, but super easy to setup and comes with free cybersecurity and covers my whole home. It gives me more Ethernet connections, and the whole family can stream, game and use multiple devices without and interruptions or lag. I couldn’t be more impressed with Nighthawk and this has the WiFi 6 which means any new smartphone will surf the web, stream or you can even game and it’s a seamless beautiful experience! Thanks again Netgear for making great products and for the amazing experience that comes with them!

Great product, software is a little buggy
||Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.Pain in the butt to setup, has to run the setup 3 times to find the satellites but once I got them setup, they have been working fantastic. Xbox downloads are fast and haven’t seen any lagging on the smart TVs. My only gripe is the app doesn’t seem to show what devices are connected to what satellite. Both satellites in the app say zero devices connected even though my Xbox is wired into one of them and has internet

Better than anything else I've used!
||Posted .Owned for 8 months when reviewed.Previously I've had a single, double and triple wifi setup using a mixture of wifi extenders. Using multiple different extenders had its problems. I usually ended up with a couple wifi signals to choose from not mention a pain to manage. Ok. With this new setup I have two wifi signals to choose from and all three wifi points are very easily maintained via an app on my phone or tablet. Setup was pain free and seamless. I went from poor coverage in a two story house to excellent coverage anywhere in my house and now outside on my deck. Of the two systems of this kind offered by this company I bought the one for a larger coverage area and I'm glad I did. It always works everywhere!

Q: QuestionI want to connect one satellite via ethernet to the router. I want to connect satellite via ethernet to a computer. I see two ethernet connections in the back of the satellite. Can one be used for an inbound signal or will it be wireless inbound?
Asked by 5412.
- A:Answer Wireless inbound- the satellites connect to the base via WiFi- the two ports allow you to connect to the satellite via Ethernet cable
Answered by BigD
Q: QuestionIf I were to place one of the extenders outside, under shelter, would this be an issue? Would not be exposed directly to precipitation or sun.
Asked by ShaunWV.
- A:Answer I would not hesitate to place one outside, as long as it was sheltered from the elements. They do require a plug-in for power, but that is it.
Answered by JoshS
Q: QuestionDoes this provide you with wifi or do you need an existing service?
Asked by Ashley.
- A:Answer It will provide a very good WiFi network in your house. You still need an ISP (Internet Service Provider) for external messages, etc.
Answered by Happy
Q: QuestionDoes this have a faster wifi speed than the wired connection? I also see it has gigablast ability is it limited to the wired connection speed?
Asked by A.
- A:Answer This device is Triband and supports these speeds: 1800 + 1200 + 600Mbps
Answered by Netgear Support
Q: QuestionDoes this system work with Verizon Fios?
Asked by jstar2001uk.
- A:Answer I don't know for sure , but as long as you have a modem, whether dsl, fiber or cable, this should work just fine. It is only a networking device and does not have an internal modem. Had it for a few weeks now and it's working great.

Q: QuestionCan you manage device connections independently and block internet on devices without the parental control subscription?
Asked by Rob.
- A:Answer Only via a MAC address you can block all the time or based on a schedule. The subscription allows you to group devices to a user (child) and filter all their devices based on content, on demand, on time limits and reward them with time extensions.

Q: QuestionI have a Nighthawk X6S AC4000 Tri-Band WIFI Router, does this replace my current router, or extends my current router? Is it stronger than my current router?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Replaces or in concert. It is 1 Router unit and. 2 Satellites but you can configure it for Access Point mode and it can be used in addition to your router. I can’t say what features you may lose in that mode.

Q: QuestionI have xfinity, but my internet is located on the second floor where my desk is. The problem is that the basement often doesn't get very good WiFi connectivity. Would the Nighthawk AX3600 Tri-Band WiFi 6 help? I have a Netgear X4S now. But I need help.
Asked by AdeleCY.
- A:Answer Yes it will! I too had the same problem and I set up the router on my main floor, put one satellite in the basement and one satellite on the second floor. I have excellent connectivity and speed on all three floors! I also have the luxury of having ethernet to the second floor so instead of connecting that satellite to the router wirelessly I have it connected direct. The other one in the basement is wireless 5 Mgz and both work equally well. I love this router system and it is priced way better than Orbi. Not paying for a name!
