The included Nikon 85mm f/3.5G lens is a good quality macro lens for the DX format. More compact and lighter than its larger Nikon 105mm macro brethren, it is easier to use hand held and still offers vibration reduction while only being about 1/2 a stop slower maximum aperture. It balances well on the DX bodies and the image quality is good as well. The 35mm f/1.8G lens is basically the equivalent of a standard 35mm prime lens as its effective focal length is approximately 52.5mm. As such it should be considered as a fast normal lens for DX, not a mild wide angle lens. If you're in the market for a macro lens for Nikon DX format, this kit is a good bargain especially if you already do not already have a 35mm lens as its actually less expensive than the regular price of just the 85mm macro lens alone. Both lenses are packaged individually inside the kit box in their normal retail boxes (not white boxed as the lenses included in some Nikon body-lens kits).

After shooting with my D5200 for several months using the kit lens, and taking a few classes, I was itching to purchase another lens. I'd read several books, reviews, and articles trying to decide what I wanted my next lens to be, but I couldn't make a decision. When I saw this bundle and its price, I knew I'd found what I was looking for. The macro lens (85mm) allows me to have fun with shooting flowers and other objects close up. I recently used the 35mm at a family gathering and got some awesome shots. Definitely worth the money!

I have never had a macro lens, so I'm having a lot of fun experimenting with my new Nikon 85mm f/3.5G macro. My new Nikon 35mm f/1.8G portrait lens is providing much better results than the 18-55mm kit lens that came with my Nikon D5500 camera. I purchased these two additional lenses as a kit, for an awesome savings. I know these are not the highest quality camera and lenses that Nikon makes, but as a beginner, I'm having a lot of fun learning without shelling out big $.

Each of these lenses are great. To get them in a kit at this price was a bonus. I had previously purchased the 35 mm lens by itself and was using it exclusively. I saw the kit on the Nikon site but it was out of stock. Went to Best Buy and they had it in stock. The quality of the photos from these are good for my purposes. I'm using them on the Nikon D7200. I haven't signed up for the included Craftsy.com class yet. The two guides that come with the lenses have helpful information

I am still getting used to owning dedicated lenses for portraiture and macro shooting. I bought these two beauties in a great package deal and am loving them. Exceptional lens quality, seem to be very sturdy lenses. I recommend skylight filters if you plan to keep the lenses in good condition. I personally think these filters should be included with new lenses.

After researching a lot I decided to purchase this lens package because of the reviews and upon receiving and using the lenses I have not been disappointed. I have been able to take quality pictures of my newborn and toddler. The macro 85mm lens has been great for taking close ups of their hands. I would recommend purchasing this combo package as it was the best price for quality lenses.

I bought these lenses and used them as kind of "fun" lenses for a wedding. The macro lens is an absolute piece of junk. It's made cheap, it feels like it weighs nothing and the rubber dial grip is so loose I was afraid the lens was going to lose its composure. The 35mm is a decent lens with great bokeh, but only if you have a DX camera. I MUCH prefer the 35mm on the FX. Overall, good deal for $500 but so not worth it.

I was initially skeptical about spending 500$+ for a bundle of these two lenses. But after using these I must say I'm glad I pulled the trigger. The 35 mm lens is a very easy to carry around lens and it now never leaves my nikon d7100. The 85 mm lens takes really beautiful macro pics. I would really recommend this bundle to anyone looking to move out of kit lens.
