Awesome Camera for anyone wanting a DSLR
|Posted .Great Camera, it is very similar to the Nikon D5100 but with more megapixels and crispier image quality. For anyone starting with an entry level DSLR, this is by far one of the best to start with. However, it is a little pricey since it was just release but if anybody wanted to start with a great one where you can see the functions clearly and make quick adjustments, this camera is for you.

Love this camera!!
|Posted .This is my first DSLR and... I love it! Once you figure out all the terms of photography the camera is easy and fun to use. I would definitely recommend this camera. I was on the fence about spending this much money and did tons of research on all the other Nikon models and Canon's, and after owning my Nikon D5200 for a month I would make this purchase again and again, no doubt. Also, the 18-55mm VR lens is great to start out with, but will be purchasing other lenses. I hope this review was helpful and you enjoy your new Nikon!

The difference between 24MP is VERY noticable!
|Posted .It has everything, the tilting screen for hard to get pics, many features, and the 24 mega pixcels really makes a difference. I bought the Nikon 3200 first, and that was also 24MP, but it was not that good, my Canon Ti3 at the time was better. But the 5200 is incredible, I notice textures that I had not noticed before. I am a convert from Canon! And the pictures in low light are phenomenal, I hardly ever use the flash.

I love this camera, it like moving upto a Cadillac
|Posted .I purchase my Nikon D5200 on line, the person that I talk to was very knowledgeable about the camera and a pleasure to work with and he was in the U.S. . I did a lot of reading on the camera before I made my purchase. The reason I purchase the camera from Best Buy was my experience with the company in the past of doing what they say they will do for you, the price, sending you what you purchase, getting it to me fast and standing behind what they sell. They gave me a free camera bag and ship it two me in a few days at no extra charge.

Amazing Camera!
|Posted .We just had our first child. We bought this camera about a month ago and have already take 400+ pictures. Amazing pictures of family events, places we've gone, scenic roadways, mountain top views, and close ups of flowers, and most importantly wonderful pics of our baby girl. We bought an optional telephoto lens. Best "extra" purchase I ever made! This camera is so easy to use. I'm still learning about all the options I can use to take pictures of different kinds, but the Auto option takes such great shots.

We love this camera!
|Posted .The first two things to do it you buy this camera: 1. Turn on sequence naming. Otherwise you will overwrite files when you copy to your PC. 2. Turn on the center focusing. This will look at only one point for focusing. You can move the "dot" with the arrow buttons if your subject is off-center.

Q: QuestionNikon D3200 or Nikon D5200My wife is new to photography and would like a DSLR. I am not sure if I should get the D3200 or pre-order the D5200. Being a beginner is the D5200 going to be too much or is it better to start with the D5200 and allow her to grow into that camera.

This question was asked about the related product: Nikon - D5200 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm VR Lens - Red- A:Answer I would go with the 5200 and let her grow into it. It is pretty easy to figure out. There are multiple beginner book on this particular camera that are really helpful. She will love the different features of this camera that the 3200 doesn't have.

Q: QuestionI just bought a d5200. Is there suppose to be a twist cap for the lens that attaches to camera?
Asked by Sergio.
- A:Answer Short answer: no The kit lens should have a pinch cap for the front, and a white plastic cap that just pushes on to the back. It can easily be mistaken for packaging and thrown out sho be careful.

Q: QuestionCan it take extremely closeup up pics of jewelry that I am selling?I sell new jewelry on ebay and have to get very detailed on the way it is made. The faceting, the settings, etc. I need to get very close up. Will it do this without blurring the picture?
Asked by cherellad.
- A:Answer The D5200 takes excellent pictures. For your particular needs you might need a special macro lens for the detail you want. In the beginning this camera should work well. Lenses can be researched at http://www.nikonusa.com/en/index.page. Also you can watch videos about macro lens. I don't think you will be disappointed if you decide to purchase this camera. I hope this helps.
