Q: Is this camera too advanced for a beginner who wants to learn more about photography?
A: It is a little advanced but not much harder that the Nikon I had before this one. I have been shooting for awhile but I bought a beginners book for photography which will give you all the basics
Q: Is the 55-300mm VR lens a telephoto lens?
A: The 55-300mm designation on the lens means that it is a variable focal length lens, often called a Zoom lens. This means you can manually adjust the lens to zoom-out to Standard focal length (around 55mm) and zoom-in to Telephoto focal length (generally anything over 75mm). So this Zoom lens allows you to choose approximately standard lens (55mm) or a powerful telephoto (300mm) and anywhere in between!
Q: Do both lenses have image stabilization?
A: VR means Vibration Reduction, is an image stabilization technology that minimizes blur caused by camera shake. Normally, to avoid camera shake, use a shutter speed of 1/125 sec or higher.
A: The Nikon D5500 DSLR camera (2015 release) and the Nikon D7100 DSLR camera (2013 release) both have WiFi capability, however, the Nikon D7100 can only access this feature when the optional WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter is attached to the camera. The Nikon D5500's Wi-Fi is built-in. Once the Wi-Fi feature is enabled, both the Nikon D5500 and Nikon D7100 can be connected with any compatible smart device running the Wireless Mobile Utility (WMU) application. This app allows images to be transferred instantly from the camera to the smart device. Once they are transferred you can use your smart phone's file sharing options to upload them to different file-sharing sources or share them on social networks. These particular DSLR cameras are a bit different from one another. The Nikon D5500 has a touch screen and is extremely lightweight but does not have a built-in focus motor like the Nikon D7100 does. Built-in focus motors allow you to have more compatible choices for lenses. In addition the Nikon D7100 has two SD slots while the Nikon D5500 only has one. To learn more about these two DSLR cameras please contact Nikon Support.
Q: Will Nikon D 80 lens work on this camera?
A: The D7100 has a built-in autofocus motor. Nikon has not changed their lens mount (for fit of lenses) in over 50 years. Your lenses from your D80 will work on the D7100. You should check the manual for the exact details on your specific lenses for any limitations at all.

A: The Nikon D7100 DSLR camera kit shown here comes with a HB-57 Snap-on Type lens hood for the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR lens. This helps to reduce stray light which can cause flare. This kit also comes with a LC-52 Snap-on Front Lens Cap 52mm for the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR II lens and a LC-58 Snap-on Front Lens Cap for the AF-S 55-300mm lens, along with rear caps for both, to provide protection when not in use. An HB-69 Bayonet Lens Hood can be purchased separately from the kit to keep flare from entering the AF-S 18-55mm lens when shooting.
Q: Can I buy it in the store now or I need to wait untill Black Friday?
A: Black Friday price will be $999.99.
