Just Perfect
||Posted .Pros: This is a must have addition for your nikon Cam DSLR goes well if you have the Nikon App to upload and download and also take pictures directly from your tablet. The small protective case and string attach to camara strap so cool so you wont loose it. cons: if you dont set the wifi to always stay on it will log you off and you must set it up in the app and dont forget to set up a network password for it. But it does drain your camera battery life by 30% atleast. Must have extra battery handy.

Awesome for travel.
||Posted .Brilliant little add on for your compact camera. I bought this to enable me to drop my photos directly onto my iPhone without the need to carry my laptop as well. With an upcoming trip to Asia in mind, and wishing to only take carry-on luggage, this is an ideal gadget. I have been testing it out around Washington DC, and absolutely LOVE it. As a professional photographer, I can see it's benefits for personal snaps, but understand that this would not be suitable for professional photoshoots.

Picture transfer thingy - wirelessly.
||Posted .Works as advertised on my iPad, slight confusion upon initial set up but if you do it once then the next time is easy. I included the Apple App picture for all to see. This is an extra perk, as the camera already comes with a cable to hook up to you desktop or laptop, but if you want to transfer to you mobile device this thing will work for you!

Great for the bag of tricks
||Posted .I am a Nikon D3200 owner. I have 4 different lens packages, tripods, monopod, stands, back drops, multiple SB 710 and SB 900 flashes but this little guy stoled the show last week at a Westcott lighting class I was taking. It seems the D3200 developers kit was never released by Nikon so their are no teathering options for the camera. When I saw this little thing I thought why not. Some of the shots I take are static portraits or wild life so I used some BestBuy dollars to help with the cost. Boy did I make the smart decision. During my class the instructor had a Cannon 5D Mk II teathered to a mac book and Lightroom. I was taking the same photos with my WU-1A and they were on my iPad before his first one was showing up on his mac. All the Nikon users in the room gathered around to see how it worked. And it did! They were quite impressed and asked where I purchased it. Of course I said BestBuy (even though I was in a camera store in Westwood). If you have a D3200 this is your only option for teathering or remote live view unless Nikon parts with the SDK. So if your on the fence, don;t be. Buy it. You'll like it!

Really liked this adapter
||Posted .Nikon - WU-1A Wireless Mobile Adapter - Black I wasn't sure what to expect from this adapter. I was intrigued with the product description and it was part of the reason I purchased my camera bundle. Once I received the camera and started taking pictures I was hopeful the Nikon WU-1A would work as easily as stated. It did! I just downloaded the app to my iPhone 6 Plus and followed the instructions. I plugged it into my camera, changed the wifi in my phone settings to the Nikon WU-1A and then opened the app to start transferring photos to my phone. It worked great! The only real problem I've had with the adapter is that it only allows one phone, at a time, to connect to it and transfer photos. At least that's what my experience has been. It would be nice to have multiple phones connected so other family members could transfer photos at the same time as opposed to one at a time. Other than that this was an unexpected surprise from my purchase. I really liked this product!

Expected more from Nikon
||Posted .I have been very disappointed with this product. First, my background. I consider myself an expert on transmitting on the Nikon. I've been doing it since 2002 even before Nikon provided a solution. I was using a battery powered UHF transmitter and receiver using the video out on the DSLR's. I then went with the Nikon's first wireless camera D2H, then WT3A on D200 and then WT4A on D300. I thought this sounded like a great option. I bought it to use on my D7100. When conditions are PERFECT, then this works great!! But I do a lot of event shooting. If you find yourself at the ballgame, or church where there are lots of people with Mobile phones, then you can forget ever getting this to work. With lots of signals from other cell phones, it's impossible to get this working even with the iPhone or iPad up close to the DSLR. Once everyone starts leaving it will start working reliably again. Even then it's not reliable enough to depend on it. It disconnects so often, I've only been able to get about 12 photos transferred before it disconnects and I have to start all over again. I will say, I did use it a lot on my recent trip to Germany. I uploaded 400+ photos to it. But remember to only load less than 20 at a time and ensure you are away from lots of cell phone signals. And realize that you can't have your phone more than a few feet away from the camera. In Summary, for $50, it's probably worth it to play with it as long as you realize the hassle this will be. On the other hand, spend the $900 and get the WT5A transmitter if you want reliability and for it to work right each and every time. I am rethinking using this with my clients. I currently give them my iPad and use the WT4A to transmit ALL of my photos as I take them. This works very well. This allows them to review the photos and Tweet immediately and post photos as the even takes place. I don't see this working with this cheap product. First my WT4A transmits as I photograph with no interaction on my part. The WU1A requires me to change how I work. With it on, I can't preview photos on the camera. The phone, must manually select the photos to download. It definitely has slowed me down using this product. I think it's a good idea, and for $50, definitely worth getting and trying it out. But do not expect this to work in a professional situation unless in a controlled environment.

Fairly priced, handy dandy little piece of magic
||Posted .I travel--quite a lot actually. For pleasure mostly. And over the past few months the camera on my phone didn't quite capture the types of photos I wanted to share on social media and with friends and family back home. Rather than wait until I arrived back from my destination to share my memories from my Nikon D3200, I wanted to find a way to share them almost instantly. And that's when I met this little guy. Setup was quick, and the gadget itself come with a little carrying case and lanyard so that it's not easily lost. Downloads about 10 or so pictures in less than 20 seconds. I love this little beast.

Q: QuestionIs this compatible with a d90?
Asked by Ray.
- A:Answer No. The Nikon D90 DSLR camera does not have built-in wireless transfer technology, so it cannot use the Nikon WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter. To have a wireless option for the D90 camera, use a 2GB Eye-Fi memory card.

Q: QuestionCan the image be sent to email via a laptop using the wireless adapter?
Asked by Sami.
- A:Answer The Wireless adapter only communicates with the camera via a SmartPhone or Tablet. You can fire the camera's shutter using the app via a SmartPhone or Tablet. You can view all of the pictures on the cameras memory card as well. From there - you can download and email. It will not communicate with a computer.

Q: QuestionDoes this adapter works with the d810. If not how can I transfer photos to my android phone. Like I do from my d7200. Thanks
Asked by Erik53.
- A:Answer No, the Nikon WU-1A Wireless Mobile Adapter is not compatible with the Nikon D810 DSLR camera. For a compatible wireless accessory you would need to use a Nikon UT-1 communication unit and Nikon WT-5 wireless transmitter together to transfer images wirelessly to a computer or ftp server. You can also use the Nikon WT-7A Wireless Transmitter instead, for connecting to computers, FTP or HTTP servers and smart devices. To learn more about wireless options please contact Nikon Support.
