Nintendo - 3DS XL with Mario & Luigi: Dream Team - Silver

I bought this for my 9 year old grandson and he loved it

I debated getting the 3DS for a long time because I think this 3D fad is silly, but I'm glad I finally caved and got one. Nintendo is just brilliant with their handhelds. Like most everything these days, it has a home screen and all games, settings, camera, etc are run like apps on a smart phone. So it's cool to be able to "suspend" your gameplay, then very easily either return to it or exit the game. The XL is worth the extra money in my opinion, the screen sizes are great and the graphics are pretty and obviously a step up from the old DSes. This particular 3DS has a simple but cool Mario and Luigi design on it, and I like the silver. I figured the Mario and Luigi's Dream Team game would be good, but not really something I'd really get into all that much. I was wrong - it is an excellent game, I'm really enjoying it. It's got that classic Nintendo/Mario humor in there, and the graphics are simple but pretty. I'm definitely glad I chose this bundle. The only thing I don't like is seriously the 3D effect. I'm not sure why the 3D thing is getting so popular, I guess the kids like it or something. For me, all it does is give me a headache if I leave it on for any length of time. I'm certainly not impressed enough by a basic 3D effect to do that, so the 3DS' main feature is kinda a waste for me, but luckily Nintendo is so good at handhelds that they more than make up for it and the system is still well worth the money.

Bought this for my 13 year old grandson as a Christmas gift. He was thrilled. He loves the graphics, screen size, etc. And really liked the preloaded Mario game. Since my grandchildren have had all the previous game systems by Nintendo, they already had a wealth of game cartridges-which all work with this system. They play just the same, just not in 3-D. He really is happy with the battery life as well. Great upgrade to this game system....bigger size, graphics, sound, 3-D graphics, SD card, and I could continue on and on!

I bought this for my wife and she loves it. The graphics look great and the 3D works great. It fits the hand very well. Probably the best hand held nintendo has ever made.

You have to love the limited edition 3ds XL. comes with a game for the same price as one that doesn't come with a game.

The screen is so much better then the old ds xl. The graphics are awesome and you can turn the 3d off and on. It has wireless and the ability to go online and go to google and other things.

I'm a long fan of Nintendo, having played their games since the original NES, but I hadn't owned a portal console of theirs until the 3DS. I bought it mainly to play the Link Between Worlds, which was great. The controls on the 3DS are quite good and the screen is great. I much prefer playing games on the 3DS than on my mobile phone, mainly because 1) the screen is bigger and 2) it has actual controls. I really only have two main complaints. One is that the 3d effect requires you to hold the screen very still, at just the right angle, and at just the right distance from your eyes. It also gave me a headache if I played for a longer period of time. Second, the second screen is touch enabled, but it doesn't work well without the stylus. The problem with the stylus is that it isn't practical to use it while playing a game.

This 3DS XL package is well worth the asking price. The included game is a fun, light-hearted RPG, and the unit itself has a nice look to it that sets it apart from standard offerings. The XL's battery life, even with wi-fi on constantly, does not disappoint. I picked up this unit because I wanted to play games with more substance than Android/iPhone offerings but still needed to be able to stay portable. I am very satisfied with the purchase and have picked up a number of games to play this year as a result.
