Adds double A battery power to joycon but..
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It does not turn off after a time of use. these will stay charging even at 100 percent and will drain a set of batteries like no tomorrow. useful if you like bigger controllers in hand, but not so much to justify the price tag.

Grip to play Arms or other games
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's nice to have the grips on to play motion control games because the joy-con alone feels too slim. Also it has batteries included to keep your controller powered longer but they are not rechargeable.

Not necessary
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is nothing wrong with this item and i'm sure it would work well but i returned them unopened after realizing you don't really need them unless you are going to be playing like crazy. The joycons charge themselves when the screen is docked and the charge lasts quite a while so for me they were not needed.

Good for playing games which use motion controls
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When playing motion control games, the joy-cons are way too slim to have a good grip on them, with this add-on you can grip them easier and also they provide a means to have your controllers charging while you play.

A bit bulky
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These have a bit of bulk to them but save on doking when playing on the TV for some time. If you have to have the sleekness of the Joy-con...I wouldn't recommend it.

Very helpful to extend gaming session
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought these because it was annoying when you're using them as two separate controllers and the charge dies. Now, we don't have to stop our gameplay to let the controllers charge on the dock and can instead pop in batteries with these packs to recharge and continue playing.

Nice for road trips
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. They are nice when you are not able to use the chargin station the controls themselves last pretty long anyway but these are good to have although it sucks that you can use them with a controller which is what I was hoping

Q: QuestionDo the joy sticks only takes barriers or can they be charged as well?
Asked by Embellishthequeen.
- A:Answer The joycons themselves have their own internal rechargable battery.

Q: QuestionCan you take off the Joy-Con straps and put it on the console with the battery pack on and how long will the packs supply a charge? Thanks.
Asked by TechEnthusiast.
- A:Answer You cannot have both these battery packs attached to the Joy-Cons and the Switch console itself, not that it matters. These battery packs are meant to charge the Joy-Cons while they aren't connected to the Switch. If the Joy-Cons are connected to the Switch, the batteries aren't being used since it's a direct, physical connection instead of wireless connection. If the Joy-Cons are attached to the Switch while the Switch is being charged, then the Joy-Cons will be charged as well. How long the packs supply a charge, I cannot answer. I've been using these more as grips than battery packs so I haven't actually put batteries in them yet.

Q: QuestionCan these also hook up to a charging port as well? For Christmas my boyfriend wants 2 more joycons for the switch and a joy con charging station. So, if I buy the insignia joycon charging station and these joy cons, will they be compatible? TIA
Asked by Brittany.
- A:Answer Yes, this model is rechargeable.

Q: QuestionWill the charger work on a broken Nintendo switch controller that cant recharge (will this allow me to charge it without the Nintendo switch Pluged into the wall?)
Asked by Jose.
- A:Answer Your question is a little confusing with how you worded it. If you’re asking if it’ll charge a Joy-con that won’t charge when attached to the Switch, I would say probably not as it charges the Joy-cons using the same method as if it was docked to the Switch. Now if you’re looking for a way to charge Joy-cons without them being attached to the Switch, this will work for that, but it would be expensive since it uses AA batteries to do so. I guess rechargeable batteries would work, but that seems redundant to me.
