The Splatoon Special Edition OLED Switch was an upgrade from the switch lite that nicely served me for three years. The console was also bought in preparation for the release of Tears of the Kingdom, so I could experience the game on a large, and most importantly, colorful, bright screen. The console feels like an incredible step up from the lite, starting with size of the screen and brightness of the screen, and ending with a unique console design and added functionality of the sturdy kickstand and ability to detach the joycons if you get tired of holding the console. What impressed me the most about the console is the improved battery life. If the lite would be quickly depleted of battery life after even an hour of BOTW or Pokémon, the OLED handles multiple hours of handheld gaming even with relatively high brightness settings. The console generally feels a lot faster in terms of using the interface, as well as the games all running smoothly with no frame rate issues, with even the touchscreen feeling a lot more responsive. With all that said, this OLED console is a great buy that supports any kind of play style and serves as great eye candy thanks to its bright and unique design among some of the other special editions.

Easily the nicest switch out there. I love the graphics on the back of the console and the multicolored joy cons. Oled screen is awesome and you don’t really notice the resolution is only 720p. My games run smoothly. I put a zagg screen protector and console protector on it because let’s face it it’s designed to tote around. I’ve gotten tons of compliments on it. It truly stands out. If you don’t have a switch yet this is the way to go. It’s worth the extra $10, or you can opt for the Zelda special edition one.

Upgraded from a nintendo lite switch. The bigger oled screen, is worth the extra bucks. Much more comfortable to play on, I didn't know being able to play on the tv was something I needed. Plus, it's a great design, especially the semi transparent back on the joycons. :)
