Great package for new Wii U customers
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best bundle at this time for Wii U at the time of this writing. You get the Wii U, Gamepad, Wii Remote Plus, Steering Wheel, and Mario Kart 8 Game + a Digital Download for another game. Wii U: I'm not a big fan of the User Interface of Wii U, but honestly I wasn't even a fan of the interface since Wii. 32gb version is a nice plus with this bundle. You'll get a lot of popups about connecting to MiiVerse and using that. Wii U Gamepad: Pretty clever device but can be confusing at times. Allows you to play your Wii U without even turning on your TV for "most" games. I say most because Mario Kart doesn't seem to allow you to use that solo. Also it's confusing because some games, it forces you to play with the gamepad if you're solo (ie Super Mario). you can use the wii u gamepad as a TV remote controller. I've set it up but never use it. This bundle doesn't come with a gamepad accessory kit (ie screen protector) but does have a gamepad stand and charger to go with it. Wii Remote: Great value in the bundle. You will definitely need one for some kind of game and especially for legacy Wii games. Also great addition if you have multiple players. If you didn't get this bundle you probably would have had to buy one of these anyway. also comes with a red rubber protection for it. Uses standard double AA batteries. Recommend rechargeable batteries. Steering Wheel: it's ok. I tried Mario Kart with the wii remote by itself and it can hurt since the wii remote isn't exactly "ergonomic". Steering wheel is a better option and i'm sure little kids will like that. Nunchuck + Wii remote is a better solution or an actual game controller if you want to be pro. Mario Kart 8: King of Karts. If you've never played any of the Mario Kart, it'll be a blast. if you have, it's still great. For better or worse, it's Mario Kart but with little new things + new graphics. I think it's a great game but at the same time I wasn't completely blown away either. If you have kids or friends over, this game will definitely deliver laughs and fun. Saves your races and even can post them on youtube if you want.

This should have been the original Wii
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought an original Wii in 2006 - waiting in line for 8 hours - it was a novelty - played for a few months, then sat - then played again, and sat. With the Wii on the shelf, I started using my PS3 (mostly for Blu-Ray and Netflix). Then I purchased an Xbox360 - and the same results occurred for the Wii. Why am I telling you this? I am excited for the future of the Wii U. This system should have been the system Nintendo released in 2006. This would have kept Nintendo on top, instead of sputtering. But even so, I was no entranced by the Wii U at first; in fact, I thought was gimmicky. That is, until Mario Kart 8 was announced. I have not played a Mario Kart since the DS version - I am a fan of the original and 64. Setting up the system took around an hour, with settings and system updates. Learning the OS was not hard - I just poked around. You really get a good experience if you are social on the system. If you post things to communities and to Miiverse, the system can be fun! Mario Kart 8 is a wonderful game. Every aspect of the game is addicting. I find myself quitting races and starting over if I get 2nd place. Online play is surprisingly good, although it does suffer from lag - you may think you shoot someone with a shell, but they suddenly get a speed boost - because that kart was not really there due to lag. There is a negative to this game - Nintendo dropped the ball on battles. It's awful - awful - awful -awful. Not fun; race style, stupid. Don't even bother. Hopefully they come out with DLC for battle arenas. To sum, I am still excited for this system. I have had it for a while now, and still have the urge to play. I am looking forward to buying DK: Tropical Freeze and SMASH BROS. Hope this helps in making a decision!

Great deal for brand new console/game/accessories.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my girlfriend's birthday because she loved the new Mario Kart 8 when we played it at a friend's. I was originally going to buy refurbished and get the game separately, but then I came across this bundle. It's a pretty fantastic deal. Buying used or a refurb and all the components separately would only come out to about $20-$30 cheaper. I figured, why not buy new considering that small price difference? I was never much of a Wii fan, but the Wii U is definitely a step up. Looks great for the kinds of games it plays, runs well, and is a lot of fun with friends. It comes with an HDMI cable, but can also use an old Wii's A/V composite or component cable. It's also great that this comes with a 32 GB SD card. Some other bundles only come with 8 GB. The bundle includes Mario Kart 8, of course, but it ALSO comes with a download key for a free game, though I haven't tried it as it's not my console. Not sure which games you can select from for that. The Mario Wii Mote and Wii Wheel are a nice addition and are practically free if you consider that a brand new Wii U by itself is anywhere from $275-$299 depending on where you get it from. I have to say the wheel and Wii Mote combo is my favorite controller for Mario Kart. All in all, great bundle and fantastic value. My only real gripe is that I can't figure out how to turn off the screen on the Gamepad in order to save batteries while playing a game. Also, I think it's kind of odd that when playing Mario Kart 8 with other people on the same console, the screen on the Gamepad is split as well, which makes it kind of useless as it becomes fairly small.

Great Wii U bundle for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was an amazing deal since it came with the console, Mario kart 8, a digital game download (promotion when this bundle was purchased), an extra wii controller, and the wii wheel. If all items were purchased new separately, it would be much more than the price of this bundle. Mario kart 8 is fun to play alone or with a group of friends. The replay value of Mario kart 8 is very high. I have already recommended others to get this bundle. Overall, I was extremely pleased with all elements of the purchase.

Great value for those unsure about the WiiU
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For those on the fence about the WiiU like I was, this bundle is the one to get. MK8, extra controller and a free downloadable game (until 7/31) all for $30 above retail price for the regular WiiU deluxe bundle is a great value for an underrated system. There are plenty of great games for the WiiU with many more to come. The gamepad could use a little extra battery life, but so far that is my only complaint!

Awesome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The system was easy to setup but there were a number of updates that took a bit of time to complete. The system is awesome and came with Mario Cart 8. Also, at the time of my purchase when I got Mario Cart 8 the Nintendo Store gave me the New Super Mario Bros Wii U.

Best Value if On the Fence for Wii U
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This isn't a review of the Wii U itself (there's plenty of reviews out there). I just wanted to review the bundle itself. I am a long time Mario Kart fan (admittedly, I still host Double Dash tournies with my old college roommates). I've also been a long time supporter of the Nintendo franchises. However, I have been reluctant to purchase a Wii U. Why? Games. When I saw this bundle, I was still a bit hesitant. But then I looked closer, and realized it came with an extra controller, Wii steering wheel accessory (not going to use, but nice to get, limited edition) AND another free game. Purchasing this bundle and registering it through Nintendo's website allowed me to choose between 4 games. I chose Zelda: Wind Waker. At this point, I paid $30 more than the deluxe system itself and got all of the freebies. I must admit I was always thinking about buying the Wii U, but this was finally the push I needed. If you are anything of a Mario Kart fan and on the fence about buying a Wii U. Jump on to the other side and purchase this bundle. Heckuva deal.
