I read that the games last delay was for removing a lot of the features that this game had in place. I believe it. Comparing the game that I got to a lot of videos that I've seen. I believe they did this to then put it back in future updates or dlc. Too bad they made a business decision like that. This game has suffered for that. I can only recommend to wait a few months for the devs to ad more gameplay features, and or a great sale or inevitable price drops. Also. Read or check videos online before you buy. So you see what I'm referring to, and you know what kind of game you are getting.

First, I must say, do not believe the immense amount of hype around this game. That's not to say that this game is bad, but simply that the hype and vauginess before the release was tough to make this game more than what it is currently. This game was made by 13 people roughly, and for all the technical feats it does, they deserve major props and recognition.
The game was full of bugs at released and required a major patch. And there are still some bugs and patches more to come. It's certainly playable and I haven't encountered any issues, but some have. So that's my fair warning on the current state. It's stable and runs fine but needs tweaking.
As for the game itself. I like it, but bare in mind that this is currently purely an exploration game in infinite space. You'll fly and travel on planets and moons, harvest items to make fuel and make items while you name and fight creatures and machines. It's a mellow calm journey in space. No loading times when flying into a planet or warping to a new system. It's a calming game to me. Simple and beautiful in art and sound. You can walk on a planet for hours on end to explore it all. Or just go everywhere you can fly yourself to. In the end you make your own fun here.
And that is maybe it's own double edge sword. Much like Minecraft, SimCity, The Sims. You are who makes this game enjoyable, if you need direct orders or a story to make you want to play - this game isn't for you yet. So you have to be a person who can enjoy the simple things like exploring and travel and making stuff. As that's all there is to do so far.
Now I said for now, there are plans to add home bases and battle ships you can fight against and so on. And where the game expands from there is anyone's guess. But there is a ton of poetential as far as I can see.
The game is good in its current state, but will be much better the longer it goes.
So if you're currently into Minecraft and the like, you might actually dig this game for being a pure explorative experience.

So I waited to give this a review. I've spent 50 hours exploring the universe of No Man's Sky & I can say I've enjoyed my time with it. There are some problems I have with this game though. To be a procedurally generated world based off an algorithm, there sure are lots of plants & creatures that are duplicated. I do understand there are only so many models, however, I feel like it one animal is surviving on a frozen tundra & I land on another planet where the average temperature is 305 degrees Celsius, that creature should not be there. The seamless transition from planet to space & vice versa is amazing. The lack of loading screens (despite warping or traveling blackholes. I don't care what you say Sean Murray, these are loading screens.) is amazing. Loading into the game is also great as you just load in with no menu. Speaking of menus, I strongly dislike the use of menus in the game for inventory management. It makes it even more aggravating when you decide to start a conflict with a sentinel. There is no story, but instead 2 paths to reach the galactic core. I've decided to take the least traveled path & not focus on the Atlas path. 50hrs in & I'm still a ways away from the galactic core. Overall I'd say this game is average as it did not live up to any of the hype. Still a fun game if you're looking for a very chill experience. 3 out of 5.

No Man's Sky is a rather unique game. There's only an ending by technicality, but the primary focus of the game at release was to explore and wander.
What I played of two planets at release gave me some interesting experiences and half the fun was discussing them with friends who had very different experiences.
This isn't a shooter, it's not an MMO-esque space combat game, it's really more about just seeing things and finding what a procedurally generated universe looks like.
Put on some relaxing music and explore the world you find yourself in with no real purpose and no real goal beyond what you make for yourself - get to the next planet, find all the language bits to start understanding the obelisks (which seemed to slowly unveil hints at a backstory), upgrade your ship, but realize none of it is crucial and it's all just about being a leaf on the river, relaxing and letting your whims lead you.
Since release, Hello Games has released 2 or 3 major patches that have improved the game with base building and a lot of major features that have reportedly changed the game. The latest rumor is VR support may be coming soon. If that proves true, hopping into No Man's Sky in VR may be where it's really worth giving it a try.
I'd recommend this to a friend, but only after preparing them to know what mindset they should approach it with.

i enjoyed most of my time with the game. I really wish the story was more of a priority for the game. Hopefully the game gets updates that add features that are missing.

The game is great for the first few hours. Then you start to realize you've seen all the game has to offer. The limited edition bundle is very nice and the steelbook looks awesome.

So the game is overall as advertised. A single player exploration/crafting game in a vast universe. They have definitely achieved this goal (I have 20+ hours in the game since Tuesday's launch) but there is definitely room for improvement in the stability of the game as well as the features included.
Now a massive plus is the fact that all future content will be added via update. There is no paid for DLC to worry about. I honestly think the game will only improve with time.
A:In the product description it states:
Bonus DLC PHOTONIX CORE: An advanced ship boost that will speed up your voyage as you travel through the stars
Bonus DLC TRADER CHARISMA: Receive a bonus set of valuable resources to gain an advantage in selling and trading
Bonus DLC BOLTCASTER SM:Secure access to a powerful weapon blueprint, perfect for defending against hostile lifeforms and Sentinels
So my guess is you get all three
A:It said that for me and then changed to Pre-Order but would not let me pre-order it. I called the 1 888 customer service number and they were able to tell me the number of days until it would be available for pre-order. It is a possibility that it has more coming but not a guarantee, Call and ask, the least they will say is that it is out so it doesn't hurt to check.
