Pure Style and Function
Posted .So this might not be the fastest netbook on the market, but it's packed with a bag of tricks that few can even dare to compare.. LED screen w/ optional HDMI output. 16 Cell battery that's more than twice the size of most of the other netbooks, and the advertised times are accurate. I bought this for my trip in December to January. The best part was using it at the airports on layovers and not worrying about not finding a plug after starting on a full charge. My day started out flying from Florence, SC to Charlotte, NC (about 1:30 delay) NC to Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX (2 delay). TX to Denver, CO (2:30 delay) then used it for almost 2 hrs from CO to San Jose without needing to charge. This thing was awesome for airport use. Wireless N card picked up fantastic signal strength in all the airports, had people next to me unable to connect. Want to make free phone calls? No problem if they have skype, you can even do video. Works on 3G as well as wifi. Having a built in mobile broadband card is awesome, no usb thing sticking out to get broke off or misplaced. I paid full price for mine because I was planning on sharing the SIM card from my iPhone 3GS if I really needed internet on a larger screen. For those of you that have jailbroke iPhones or a phone that is capable of tethering it also works fantastic. You can tether USB, Bluetooth or Wifi (It's awesome to be able to tether without a wire). Storage space was a little small for the price was hoping for at least 160-250 that was 5400rpm, but I don't plan on putting everything on here either. I guess there is only so much they can cram into this thing. GPS is cool to have, I plan on getting some mapping software later to use it more than showing where my location is. Webcam is average at best, but does the job. I noticed there is no software to directly access the webcam to save a video later. Video playback is sometimes disappointing. I saw someone else put something about netflix and just played a movie for a few mins and it seemed to play fine on browser or fullscreen. However I've played some vids off youtube and other sources that weren't HD quality and got choppy video playback. This was both for streaming and saved vids on the hard drive, I also have a 8GB SDHC that I have 4GB of set for ReadyBoost. It does have sufficient video capability for me to remote access my other notebook that has a resolution at 1680x1050 with no problems. I def recommend if you get this to get a good quality 4GB or larger SDHC, I am a little biased to 8GB SanDisk X3's because I use them in my dSLR. If your a photographer by trade or really into taking pictures, this netbook combined with an iPhone 3GS and the DSRL Remote Pro (~20) app are incredible. Even though it's not one of the listed options you can do a search for ad-hoc and set this computer up to broadcast as an ad-hoc network. You install the camera server software to the Booklet 3G and attach a DSLR from there list of cameras, have your iPhone 3GS connect to the ad-hoc network and then run the DSLR remote app on the phone. Then you have a wireless remote for your camera with live view option sometimes. You can change iso, shutter, awb, continous or single. Speakers are decent for size. Keyboard is on the smaller side, but I have pretty big hands and manage to still type fine. The only issue I had was when I first got the computer I was having an issue was something and did the factory restore that was built in. After doing this the mobile broadband and webcam stopped working. I noticed in the system settings there was a device found, but missing drivers. I went to the Nokia website downloaded ever driver they had for webcam and mobile broad band and nothing. I had to return it at bestbuy for a new one. All in all I think this is standard for netbook styling and features. Hopefully on there gen2 they will put more ram from the start. Not to mention every person I know that has seen it wants it ;) It's that sexy

Beautiful Netbook
Posted .This is my first net-book and I'm very pleased. It surfs the Internet with no problems, I listen to sirius radio (Howard Stern) no problem, and I use it to watch netflix movies, again no problem. If you're on the fence with this one because of price issue I understand, but compared to others that have similar specs on processor speed, the nokia is more money, but if you can use all the bells and whistles Nokia booklet offers, it leaves the others in the dust. As for looks and feel, the Nokia Booklet has no match at this point. You have to see it in person and spend some time with it, that's the only way to appreciate this machine. I've looked at a lot of net-books from dell,Hp,sony. and returned them within the 14 day policy. The Nokia Booklet ran just the same if not much better. Don't listen to these speed demons who hate this machine because they don't want to spend the extra scratch. If the Nokia Booklet had a price drop, the naysayers would make impossible to keep this one from being sold out.

A Netbook Worth Checking Out!
Posted .Spell Check Your Text or Website Right Now! Free Online Spell Checker. Fast and Accurate Results. No Software Required. OrSpell Check Your Text Language: English (change) I purchased the Nokia Booklet 3G a few days ago, and I have to admit that I am incredibly impressed by it. This netbook has incredible aesthetic appeal, resembling the Apple Macbook Pro. The shell of the netbook is made out of some sort of metal, and the keyboard is made of plastic. Unlike the other netbooks that I was looking at, this one does not seem cheaply made and flimsy. The screen has amazing resolution! I was very impressed at the clarity of images and videos. Nokia didn't load down the computer with a bunch of useless software like most manufacturer's do - they stuck the bare minimum on this netbook, which allows the user to add as they please without having to go through and clean up the hard drive. To top it all off, the battery on the netbook has lasted me an incredibly long time. Believe it or not, I really haven't charged it since I purchased it. As far as the performance of this machine goes, I'm not too disappointed. It doesn't run like a regular, full-sized laptop would, or a desktop, but I was not expecting it too. There weren't many negatives to the purchase of this netbook. The keyboard was a bit small for my liking, but I am successfully and quickly writing this review on it! Personally, it does not bother me. The only thing that truly bothered me was that you were required to sign up for either a $60 or $35 data plan with AT&T before you could purchase this laptop, unless you wanted to buy it outright for the full amount of $599.99, although the data plan does allow you to use their 3G network wherever you are, which is definitely a plus. Overall, I would definitely recommend this netbook to anyone that is considering purchasing one. You won't regret it!

best netbook ive ever seen
Posted .This netbook is one of the great one because it looks very neat, long battery life, and really nice screen. I only use this laptop for school purpose and all I can say is its good, but the only thing I don't like about it is that att internet service you pretty much pay 60 bucks per month for a service that limited to 5GB only!. They should have unlimited or increase it to at least double its size. In order to make this netbook faster is not to install many prgrams in it. For example when I installed Micorosft 2007 in this computer it kinda slow me down a little, but when I installed my old version of microsoft 2000 it is way much faster. Also don't install some antivirus that scans every single seconds such as macfee and norton because it will really slow you down. I would really recommend this computer for those people who only want to use this for school purpose such as surfing the web, checking emails, chatting, listening to musics, doing homeworks. But if other than that I would really recommend other laptop brands because this one wouldnt able to do those stuff. It might but it will lagg for for sure.

Excellent job, Nokia!
Posted .This is a netbook, not a regular laptop. Therefore, it's not for gaming or is it for fast processing that most of us are used to. This is your main computer's extension minus the bulk. This is perfect for frequent travelers and to persons who are just very mobile. This is good for viewing movies (plane, train, or laying on bed), listening to music, doing Office documents, doing presentations (via HDMI port) checking email, video conferences, video calls, voice calls, chatting, etc. However, this gadget is expensive (so I got the $300 - $60/mo AT&T plan. Looks of this is awesome. Its a mini Macbook Pro or a mini HP Envy 13. The only netbook that can tie Nokia on looks category is Sony Vaio X (which is 3x Nokia's pricetag). Battery life has lasted me about 9-10+ hours on continuous video and word processing (and that's pretty amazing). Nokia wins again on battery life category. I still have to experiment on Ovi Maps which I haven't tinkered on yet. This is a fanless model (no heat exhaust) that's probably why they used an underpowered CPU for it not to overheat.

Blows The Others Away
Posted .Ok, so I bought the samsung, returned it 1 week later...ATT subsidized this to the tune of 400 bucks...so for 199 I got this little powerhouse...After I got it..I did a little research...added an SD card to boost my ram...I did upgrade to 7 Home because everyone said it was faster...and guess what...they were right...Okay so you want to know what am I doing...well I leave my big laptop at work and use this for email...and surfing the web.. I was in Lowes last week with it, Checking consumer reports web site so I could make sure i had the right dishwasher...than I moved over to the cabinets and priced match a few countertops...can your net book do that? Oh the 8 hour battery is pretty ok too...

Awesome Netbook
Posted .If you are truely looking for a "netbook" than this is a good option. Web pages load quickly both on WiFi and 3G, and I was suprised how good the 3G reception is. I have downloaded a few programs like Outlook 2007 and Open Office and they loaded quickly and are working great. It hooked up with my Exchange Server quickly and sync's well. The battery life is truely amazing considering there is not a huge battery pack sticking out somewhere. It can bog down when doing several things at once, but for a netbook this portable that can connect anywhere and run all day it is a minor inconvenience. Good deal all around.

Great Netbook
Posted .I upgraded the OS on mine to the Home Premium. Does an excellent job as far as basic on the road Internet needs. . I no longer take my laptop on either local trips or when traveling distances. Great battery life, big PLUS The only thing I would have added would have been the ability to use a laptop lock like most other netbooks have.. Additionally, would have been nicer if it had a larger hard drive. Overall, I am totally pleased with this Netbook and it certainly meets all of my needs.
