Great Workout!
||Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.I was on a college rowing team (50 years ago) for 4 years and also rowed for a boat club during the summers so I know rowing. I have stopped running but still wanted a low impact, good workout. I purchased the NT RW900 and I have been very pleased with how close this machine mimics actual rowing, and I've only just begun. My legs handle the workout well because I ride a road bike. I have had to start more easily with this machine as I have to build up strength in my arms and chest which do not receive much exercise on a bike. But right from the start I have I have enjoyed good workouts. I really enjoy this machine. I'm still trying to get the IFITS connection to work but that does not detract from the quality of the RW900. It seems to be very well built. I set it up myself but another pair of hands would have been helpful. I am really looking forward to many good rowing sessions especially when winter sets in in Minnesota. I am very satisfied with this product.

Best in class Rowing Machine - NordicTrack RW900
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Rock solid construction, functional design, smooth and quiet operation. Excellent screen size for iFIT integration with full range of rower-specific workouts in worldwide locations, and user performance driven auto-tension adjustments. Ideal exercise equipment for narrow, moderate length home gym space. Nothing better for full body workouts … arms, legs, core.

Can’t go wrong with NordicTrack...
||Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. My wife and I have used rower for 2 weeks now. Great quality and construction. Screen is huge! Screen has adjustable height and tilts left/right (see picture; not sure what other reviewer’s problem with screen adjustment was). iFit membership for a year was included, which isn’t the case for other rower memberships. Videos so far have been helpful, good motivation and have a nice variety of workouts. I’ve never owned NordicTrack but I’m a fan so far. Recommend.

Arrived damaged, hope for a repair
||Posted .Best Buy team did a great job of communicating their arrival today and they did the setup/installation. All seemed fine at first, set it up, took some time to get iFit up and running. But then when I started a workout, the flywheel was not balanced and is scraping on something. I've contacted NordicTrack support, and hope we come to a resolution, and I'll repost a better review if things work out. Works well for 6'6", 250# rower
||Posted .So far, so good. Did the same review on Amazon but bought it at Best Buy - with a price match. Been using it for about a couple of weeks now and really enjoy rowing - at least once every day and sometimes 2x a day. I really like the iFIT program and rowing on the Thames, a lake in Montana or somewhere else exotic. The pacing on some of the rows is pretty good and I can easily go 30 minutes or more. Rowing at the gym (with music while looking at others lifting) limited me to about 15 minutes before I couldn't take it much more... The iFIT trainers keep me on track for the full row. I hauled it home in the back of the truck. It's a two person job - heavy. Easy to unpack and construct if you're somewhat handy. I have no idea how you could return it once you've ripped open the box so I committed myself to 'fixing it' if anything goes wrong. I would guess the set up fee is well worth it if you are not mechanically inclined or have to haul this up several flights of stairs. Or don't have a friend to help out. Some touch screen issues when my hands are sweaty - but I've found the screen works better with a lighter touch. Linked up to my wifi easily. Had a few times where the system 'reset' on it's own when I first bought it - but it hasn't happened in the couple of weeks. 4 people use iFIT in the family and no issues with anyone thus far. I'll update this review if anything comes up. I'm 6'6" with a 36 inch inseam. I weighed just above the 'max limit' of 250 pounds (OK - I was 270) when I bought it. I was really worried about whether this unit would handle my height and weight - but no issues. I think the weight limit is due to the hinge used to fold up the rower but I don't use that function. The main track fits tight with the front of the roller. Or it's based on the seat rollers - but they seem to have no issue. It's rock solid when I'm rowing. I'm now below the weight limit due to this rower and the Nordictrack bike (s22i). I was also worried about the length of the seat travel due to my inseam but I have about an inch before the stops - if I stretch to my maximum. I don't do that rowing properly so I've probably got another 2 inches of space. And the length of the cable (strap) was a concern - but no issue there either. And I've stretched it well beyond where I would normally row just to see how far it will travel. My sons have slightly shorter inseams (35.5 and 35) and neither of them have any issues at all. IF you have an inseam of 37 or more it might be a problem. I suppose you could remove the stops and get another inch or two. BUT it would be a risk of having the seat come off the rail if you push back beyond that point so I really wouldn't recommend it. And pretty sure Nordictrack would not appreciate the modification. I'd think you could easily push the weight beyond 250 without too much worry. But I probably wouldn't go above 300. At that point, get a Hydrow or something more heavy duty.

Q: QuestionDo you have to use ifit in order to use the screen or can you use other apps on it as well?
Asked by AlCapope.
- A:Answer It is a standard Android / Google tablet and can run other apps as well as the iFit.
Answered by Ivorymelon
Q: Questionhow do i activate my free year ifit
Asked by Avni.
- A:Answer As seen in my review, it’s a pain. Contact NordicTrack support who will forward the request to iFit. Always include where you bought the item, the order number and date. I had to request it three times but they finally sent a promo code via email.

Q: QuestionHow heavy is it? How noisy is it? How big is it?
Asked by garthforge.
- A:Answer It's what I call "white noise" loud. So it's a manual fan sound. The harder you pull, the louder it is. Nothing else makes noise.
Answered by KansasKid
Q: QuestionI have no interest in their monthly service. What features would be missing without it?
Asked by Gabe.
- A:Answer Instructor guided workouts - the machine comes with a couple of pre-programmed workouts.
Answered by Ivorymelon
Q: Questionwhere can I try the rower
Asked by Eric.
- A:Answer A NordicTrack RW900 Rower is set up for demo at Best Buy Dimond Mall, along with a Commercial x32i Treadmill and S22i Commercial Studio Bike. I own and use all three, every day. Superb machines!

Q: QuestionIs there an option or way to plug in headphones (or earbuds via a dongle) such that the built-in speakers do not broadcast sound?
Asked by Shawn.
- A:Answer You can plug in headphones or get yourself a Bluetooth headphone adapter which makes anything wireless, they cost next to nothing.
Answered by Coopedup
Q: QuestionTrying to decide on a rower don't like that their is no on/off switch but also wondering do you have to use headphones or does the tablet have speakers? Anyone get this and return it to find one they like better. I do want a screen with workouts.
Asked by Rose4uKY.
- A:Answer Rose4uKY The lack of an on/off switch is for protection of the equipment. Unplugging the machine when it is not in use minimizes the damage or premature wear that could occur to the electrical components of the equipment. Yes, there are speakers on this machine that will play the sounds from the console. You can also listen to your own sound through the console sound system by plugging a 3.5 mm male to 3.5 mm male audio cable into the right side of the console. If you have further questions, contact us at ce@NordicTrack.com. Thanks - NordicTrack

Q: QuestionIf you don’t use iFit, what do you see on the screen? Does it track your progress or give you stats for the workout?
Asked by DB.
- A:Answer DB Manual mode on your machine will still give you a display of your speed, incline, and other settings as you are working out. If you need assistance with this process, email us at ce@NordicTrack.com or call us directly. Thanks - NordicTrack
