From the creator of 'Moonlighting' and 'Medium', this one season hit from CBS intrigues apart from conventional shows- a romantic drama spliced with a spy series of 1999-2000. John Goodman "dies" from a train accident only to have his brain implanted into a eugenic super-human designed to fight super-terrorists spite his handlers insistence of his role being declared dead. The hero, Michael Wiseman becomes Michael Newman- portrayed by Eric Close- who doesn't want to deny his past for his current livelihood nor the wife & child he's left behind.
If 'The Six Million Dollar Man' spliced with 'Captain America' and 'Mission: Impossible' with a romantic comedy and a situation comedy to family drama, topped with John Goodman cameos and the early appearance of Dennis Haysbert before '24' and those insurance commercials- you'd believe the series was over-the-top.
A short lived television series comedy-action-drama that could have easily worked as a movie without question and plenty of surprises.
