I'm a relatively new fan of RED, only actually listening to them for the first time about a year ago when their first 3 albums were packaged together as an anthology. I was immediately hooked; the strong riffs, occasional string arrangements, and powerful vocals were enough to draw me in and make me an instant fan. One of the things that I really appreciated about this group is that even though it's a Christian rock group they keep their lyrics away from the annoying, mushy, generic "Jesus rock" lyrics a lot of other bands use; it's all about real struggles and finding a way through. It's the kind of songwriting anyone can listen to and appreciate just as much, if not even more, than the target Christian market. Also, I see a lot of people compare their sound to Chevelle, but I think they sound a lot more like Breaking Benjamin; if Breaking Benjamin and Muse had a baby and made Yellowcard the Godfather, this would be that child. As for this album itself, there are plenty of great riffs and string arrangements that drew me to the band in the first place. That special spark that was largely missing from the fairly generic "Release the Panic" is back in full force here. If you've listened to RED before and enjoyed what they bring to the table, then this is an easy recommendation. If you've never listened to them before but like the first two bands I mentioned before, then you'll probably enjoy this.

Their last album lacked the familiarity of a RED album, however, this album more than plenty makes up for it. This album is superb. It's gorgeous and has many great themes. If you get a chance, check out the music videos from this album. There are a couple instrumental tracks which make the album have more of a film score feeling, but I have absolutely no issues with this. Check it out--you won't be disappointed.

Arguably the best effort from RED yet, Of Beauty and Rage reminds fans why they love the band in the first place-- the contrast of beautiful orchestral instruments against penetrating screams. When it comes to their proven formula, one would be hard-pressed not to treat this release as the best Michael Barnes and gang have brought, and it opens the door to more progression moving forward.

Overall a very good, listenable album. I love all of the orchestral music within the songs. It adds a certain beauty to the music making it sound majestic and elegant. Definitely worth a listen or better yet a purchase. The song "Shadow and Soul" sounds a little too much like Muse, but still one of the best tracks on the album.

It's hard to give a review of music without the ability to listen to it, but both my husband and I actually agree that this CD is very good. Other bands we both like are Breaking Benjamin, Linkin Park (more their older stuff), 30 Seconds to Mars, Three Days Grace. Both melody and lyrics are good in this album.

RED is back and possibly better than ever. I loved Release The Panic, but it's so great to hear them return to that dynamic sound that made them stand out among the rest. The lyrics and vocals are also top-notch as always. The guys went back to their roots and brought the power! Awesome album!

I bought all the Red albums at once and put them in the car multi-cd changer. I love their music. Some music is harder than other music, to be honest I haven't listened to them much to diffentiate between albums. Their music rocks! That's about all I have to say about that.
