I was perfectly happy with the prior versions of MS-OFFICE but purchased OFFICE 2016 only because I was concerned about this possibly being the last "permanent" license version of OFFICE as Microsoft is pushing towards the annual subscription license even for home users. My experience with the installation was problematic and required help from the Microsoft support team, this is a FIRST compared to all the other prior MS-Office licenses I have installed very smoothly. My other gripe, is that when you download files for the installation, you get the impression that you can save the download as a backup in the event of a disk crash, reload, or move, but that is not the case. This was particularly annoying because Office 2016 needed to be reloaded again within the first week of first installation, again requiring the assistance of Microsoft support staff. My compliments to the Microsoft support staff for having to deal with this process patiently probably with multiple customers. Makes me wonder if this painful and inconvenient deviation from past licensing procedures is just to get customers including both corporate and home users to move to a more profitable annual license structure. All of the above may have been forgiven if it was not for the fact that Office-2016 loads significantly slower than all the previous versions which is also evident from the many postings on the web confirming the same complaint. If you are happy with your current version of Office, I would not recommend "upgrading" to 2016.

Once downloaded you get fully installed Office 2016 versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Outlook. A very powerful software package that provides all you will ever need for your home office needs! I had used the 2010 version of Office at my job for several years and this software is much slicker. For example, in Excel the software now has an option where it will ask you what you would like to do and it will help you create whatever you need, be it a table, a filter, change settings, etc. This same option is available in all of the different software products. The product suite also includes One Note, which is new for me since apparently this was added after 2010. One Note is a place to keep track of things and make notes for things to do, plan trips, shopping lists, etc. Microsoft also provides mini training videos to help you get familiar with the products. Pretty awesome! I think overall, this is a very powerful productivity suite of products that should address all of your home office software needs!

I bought this office suite for my Surface Pro 4 tablet. I learned a little something about purchasing the Microsoft Office software from Best Buy - Make sure that when you are at the register that they do charge you for the software as well as activate it. When I bought this software originally with my tablets, they had not charged me for the software which prevented me from activating it. After a few hours of frustration and a chat session with Microsoft, I had figured out that the software was never activated at Best Buy during checkout. I had to go back to Best Buy and purchase the software that I thought that I had already purchased in order to get the serial numbers/activation keys to work. After that, everything went off without a hitch. I would definitely recommend this software, just verify that you actually paid for it. I only took off one star for Best Buy's SNAFU, because of my time involved with this issue and not because of the software.

Simple. Easy. Installs quickly. I prefer this suite over office 365 because I find annual fees a pain. Though 365 is great because of the cloud storage. We do our own backups so I don't need it. Reliable. Customer support is great. I was easily able to change the office suite and remove it from an older laptop and move it to a new one. Very helpful and fast. I have had to do this twice and they made it happen quickly. Programs are easy to navigate, simple to understand, extremely useful. Easier to use than Apple keynote, pages, and numbers. I'm considering getting the Apple compatible suite and installing it on my mac at home, just haven't because I really won't use it there. I absolutely would recommend this for any business, as we use it at ours. Any student should have this too.

Started using office when it was “office 97” and liked it ever since. The “Office 2016” suit is no exemption. I really like using this Outlook program for my e-mail. It allows for multiple addresses, setting rules to eliminate junk – spam mail and interfaces with word and Excel flawlessly while allow you to customize the interface to your own liking. I don’t use power point that often but when I do it’s nice to have. I find it a bite expensive especially when you what or need outlook to be included but feel it is cheaper than the $100+ dollars a year for office 360. I do wish the license for one owner who has mutable computers was cheaper, so that it could be installed on more than on device. I would highly recommend this produce to anyone who has school in mind or running a small business.

I had been using Office 2003 for ages and over multiple computers. When I bought my newest computer, I decided to upgrade to Office 2016. The only issue I ran into was a trial version was already loaded on my new laptop. I called the customer service number and was quickly and efficiently assisted through the process of deleting the program and getting the one I had purchased loaded up and activated. To boot, I called back customer service and they did all the work remotely to bring over my old emails into Outlook. That saved me time, hassle, and a LOT of stress. Purchasing this software outright and being covered under the warranty was well worth the money, especially if I keep using this for another 15 years.

    Will Office 365 Home & Business 2016 Pay-Off?

I am looking at my "return on my investment" Now that Microsoft has got us "on the hook" to a subscribed service for our software needs instead of "owning" our software... This created a sustainable market for Microsoft, whereas you are essentially "renting" there software, not owning it! I suppose the advantage is that the software will always be current (or at least, I hope so). My concerns is whether or not this new business model will be compatible to my documents, databases, PowerPoints created on the earlier versions of Microsoft software I used...(we shall see...) I did the math, I figured the Microsoft Home and Business should be enough for the life of my Microsoft Surface Pro 4. I wanted it to be completely compatible with my PC...(we shall see...)

The product itself is fantastic, and has long been recognized as the flagship of productivity software. A few recommendations though. First, Microsoft dropped Picture Manager after Office 2010, which disappointed me because it sufficed for most personal photo editing chores, was easy to use, and precluded me from having to buy pricey photo editing software for the most basic of photo editing. Secondly, Home & Business (and higher) are the only versions with Outlook. Thirdly, the Home & Business price has become too steep for a lot of small businesses, and that has driven quite a few people to Open Office. Lastly, Best Buy stores don't offer Office 2016 on an install DVD, which would be of great help to those who have to deal with speed-of-glacier network speeds.
