Robbie Robertson and The Band: Once Were Brothers
|Posted .Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This is a wonderful documentary about Robbie Robertson and The Band who became famous while backing Bob Dylan on his "electric" 1966 tour. It touches on Robbie's early life starting out playing in small venues with the band known as "The Hawks." It gives insights into his touching relationships with his family and his bandmates, but especially close with his drummer, Levon Helm who inspired Robbie to write songs from Levon's experiences. It illustrates how Robbie was the glue that kept things together until drugs shattered their productivity. It ends with discussing "The Last Waltz" their final concert in which their careers ended on a high note! Includes rare footage and pictures!

History of America's best band.
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Good history of the Band that gave much more detail than I had known previously. It is unfortunate that there could not have been a more "balanced" history of this classic group.

Worst Blu-Ray for Music Lovers
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.I collect Blu-Ray Concerts & Documentaries from all 70's & 60's Rock bands. This one stands alone for the worst presentation, least amount of live footage & the most boring of any I have seen to date. An old band member waxes on and on, telling us just how wonderful & life changing was the Band. Love The Band. I just do not feel this Blu-Ray represents The Band properly.
