I bought this specific waffle iron to make Liege Belgian waffles. You need a thicker waffle iron for that and use Belgian sugar pearls. It works fantastic!

Works better than expected for the money. Not as heavy duty as a commercial grade, duh. Only thing is if you overfill it the lid will gap open a little. Still cooks good, but will allow waffle to become thicker, only if overfilled though. I only use it once or twice a week so I can't say how it will hold up if used everyday.
