I bought this exact case about 4 or 5 months ago. I had been wondering if the case was really that good, but I definitely didn't want to test it. Unfortunately I accidentally gave my self the opportunity. Today I have family come into town I set my phone on the bumper of my SUV trying to help them with their luggage and I forgot it there so we are going to the car rental place and the speed limit on out freeways is about 75 usually at this point i am going 70 minimum. Well apparently my phone had finally fell of the bumper at this point and bounced on the freeway. I thought someone had stole it I use the GPS in my phone to locate it and it says its near the freeway so we go to the spot. there it is..... the case is scratch and beat up ... you can tell it took a tumble... my phone is in PERFECT condition!! I am going to upgrade to the defender series because even though I don't work out doors where my phone is going to get hurt a lot you never know. The case is still usable just banged up and protected my brand new phone falling off the car going at least 70 miles per hour. * you can see what my case looks like after its tumble in the pic

I have owned several Otterboxes before and have been pleased with them. This Commuter Series case for my Galaxy S5 is by far the best case I've looked at and tried out. It's very nice looking and the back doesn't collect fingerprints or dust. It fits the phone perfectly with no gaps or loose edges. The Defender series adds too much bulk but the Commuter is perfect. The flap covering the 3.5mm headphone jack is unnecessary because the S5 is water resistant but other phones aren't so it's a great feature. All ports are easily accessible and the buttons work well. I frequently drop my phone because I drive with it in my lap and I never worry about it with this case. After trying other brands, I would recommend an Otterbox to anyone who wants great protection in a stylish package.

The otter box commuter was a perfect fit for my samsung s5. I was concerned it would add too much bulk but actually makes it more comfortable to hold. It also came with a nice screen protector that installed easily and slides nicely, unlike some others I have had.
