I used to invest in the NUUD Ligeproof case for all my devices. It was very costly but saved my phone plenty of times from water damage and falls. Now that the iPhones are finally water resistant, I can forgo that expense and go slightly cheaper with this Otter case. I don’t like having anything between my finger and my screen so this protects just as good as my NUUD case and have the bare screen to touch. I have dropped it many, many times now and still no broken iPhone. I went a little crazy and purchased the Infra Red camera that slides into the back of the case and then the camera snaps into the lightning port. I work in a rugged environment and having a camera snap in by inlybyhe charging port would not last long. The only negative that I can maybe complain about is that there is a tight fighting plastic piece that fits into the rear accessory port (or what ever it’s called). This keeps the back of the car feeling smooth otherwise there would be a jagged surface that would be uncomfortable when holding the phone. That in itself is a good thing but they should have made it more like a hinged door or a thin slot at the bottom of the care that the accessories would slide up into and still hade a smooth surface on the back area where you hold by. My complaint is that this will one day be lost and I’ll end up with the jagged edge issue in the back said anyway. Maybe even if it was tethered. I still give this snug fitting and great edge protecting case 5 stars.

this is my third different iphone otterbox that i have had and they are all great. i have the iphone 8+ and i really like how this case really doesn’t make the phone much larger than it already is. i read some reviews that said the case was too slick, that is not true. i also saw someone complain about the case getting scratched easliy. i have had this for about a month and i can see some very superficial scratches but nothing bad, but isn’t that the point of the case. i’d rather have a scratched case than a scratched iphone. i have the polar pro battery pack and it is a great fit for this case. it’s way better than having a portable charger and a cable.

I like my Universe case and loved having a wallet on my phone. Unfortunately, you have to remove any accessories to use wireless fast charging on iPhone 8. Something to be aware of before you buy, The case is also a little "slick" and the phone will slide across surfaces. It would be nice if it had a little more "grip".
