Peace of Mind
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm glad we got this surge protector...we had a smaller plug in protector with our previous tv, had a surge and the tv is now toast. I like that there is just one cord going to the plug now, and there is an actual breaker in the unit. Plus, it fits in our vintage italian 80's tv stand perfectly...was a bit concerned about that! All over a good buy, especially since we got it half-off.

Light is too bright
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's slim and helps organize all the plugs as well as protecting all your devices. What I do not like about it is the power indicator light it way too bright and it's always on. If you like to watch TV in the dark it can be very distracting.

Protection that works
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have anything of importance plugged into one of those surge protectors that you see sold for ten dollars or so at hardware stores, just replace it with a cheap extension cord! They do indeed break the connection if a surge happens. At least at first and at least a small surge. Most of them work one time then the powder inside gets burned up and they will fail the next time. That is when your new 3 thousand dollar TV gets zapped! A few of those are slightly better but not much. The full line of Panamax protectors work with a high speed breaker which will protect your equipment repeatedly and accurately and lightning (no pun intended) fast! Panamax has a video on their web page demonstrating the difference where the cheap one actually begins to smoke and may possibly cause a fire. I recommend watching that, then see if you believe this protection is worth it. I did and I bought a couple of these afterword. The biggest difference between each Panamax model is how many plugs there are. So figure how many items you need to plug in and add two for the future and buy what you need. Every outlet is protected by the way. Some other companies offer multiple outlets but not all the outlets are protected. What is the point in that?

Best compact power conditioner
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The panamax mr4000 is a fantastic power conditioner, before purchasing this I was having static constantly coming though my speakers while I was using a cheaper surge protector. The 8 foot power cord is just long enough to reach my outlet which is great for hiding my cables. What sealed the deal for me was the AVM circuit that is constantly checking the voltage to make sure it does not drop to low or increase to much, if that happens the circuit will shut off power to all my gear saving them from permanent damage. You can never go wrong with panamax they always have high quality gear.

Quality Control for your High-End Setup
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 2nd Panamax Power Conditioner. The first one (M5400-PM) manages my primary setup: RX-Z11, 360, PS3, XB1, 5-port switch, cooling fan & 1TB drive. The MR-4000 manages the VT-50 and two subs. Down to business, these units offer several options to you: 1) Multiple Power outlets for your gear 2) Individual surge protection for your gear and backed by a 5yr (last I checked) warranty 3) Voltage regulation and monitoring 4) Power conditioning, no more spikes or drops in power. Your audio will sound crisper & deeper. Your video will have less flicker and anomalies. Couple all of these features with the right cables and connectors and your setup will rival the big boys for a fraction of the cost but equal the quality. Enjoy.

Great Rack Mount Surge Protector
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this Panamax MR4000 for the Black Friday sale at Best Buy. I am currently using it in my living room, but it's already paid itself off. There are two indicator lights which let you know if there are any wiring issues with the wall outlet you are using. To my surprise after unboxing and plugging in the unit, one of the red wiring fault indicators turned on and the unit itself would not power on. Upon further inspection, the wall outlet was wired incorrectly by the apartment maintenance team where the Hot and Neutral wires were wired incorrectly! I like the addition of the outlet on the front of the unit, it lets me plug in anything on a moments notice, such as a laptop power brick or phone charger, or if a friend brings a game console over. I did deduct one start due to my single dislike with the unit: the power button on the far left hand side feels a bit mushy and is flush with front of the unit, you have to press it in a substantial amount before the switch engages and turns the unit on/off. I do like the ability to also turn off the blue accent lights. While not very bright to begin with, they may be distracting during movie watching when the lights are off. As for the performance of the unit: I have my LG OLED 55E8 hooked up, along with a Roku, Nintendo Switch, HRPC, and a network switch. Before having this unit powering on my oled tv would cause my living room lamp to momentarily dim, this has since corrected that. We also had one short brownout and subsequent power outage when we had a snowstorm recently. The unit worked as expected and shutdown during the brownout to protect my electronics! Overall, I am generally satisfied with the Panamax MR4000 and would recommend it over a generic power strip which offers far less protection!

PANAMAX 8-OUTLET SURGE PROTECTOR
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Thank you again to our 'Tech Guru' Zach Anderson at our local Wetmore Rd., Tucson, Arizona BEST BUY store for recommending this PANAMAX 8-Outlet Surge Protector (black), Model #MR4000. We were unsure as to whether or not we needed to purchase a new surge protector for our new LG 86" NANO CELL TV, rather than just re-purposing the one from our old TV. But as always for us non-tech people, Zach's expertise and wisdom won us over once again. We are now experiencing the monsoon storms here in the desert southwest, including spectacular lightening and torrential rain, and when it is common to lose power. We no longer have to worry about 'frying' our new electronics, and can just enjoy Mother Nature's annual show!

Q: QuestionI have a Panamax - MR 4000 and a red triangle light has come on. What does that mean? Thanks.
Asked by Bill.
- A:Answer If it is the one on the right that looks like an outlet it means that there is a fault in your line. The one on the left that looks like a caution sign means that their is an unsafe voltage and it disconnected power to protect your equipment.

Q: QuestionWhat is the best recommendations for TV protection by a surge protector?
Asked by Sorce.
- A:Answer If you are only plugging in a tv and nothing else and your outlet is really close to the back of the tv I would recommend the panamax mfp-300 for being designed to hide behind your tv if its wall mounted but If you have more than 2 items I would go for the mr 4000 or the mr 4300

Q: QuestionWhat is the difference in surge protection between the 8, 9, and 11 outlet surge protectors? If I have less than 8 items plugged into the system, does the 8 outlet offer me the same protection?
Asked by Bigfoot.
- A:Answer No if you are referring to their larger units they have more advanced protection than the mr 4000 such as better power filtering. If you have some what high end audio components such as power amps or subwoofers than the mr 5400pm would be a nicer option with power banks allowing you to have more power when you music calls for it without harming your gear. If you have some bookshelf speakers that are not crazy expensive like I do I went for the mr 4000 because its smaller and more compact and still gave me my AVM and power filtration as well. If you have less than 8 you can still use all of their lineup regardless if you have less devices plugged into them.
