I got this to replace my old YD-150 which lasted 21 years. It has some nice refinements over the YD-150 as far as specifying types of bread or dough, loaf sizes and crust(light, medium, dark) BUT the crust option only works for "basic" white breads(I am not sure why). I also like the unique feature it has over ALL other brands. You put the yeast in a "holding container" on the top of the machine and it dispenses it at just the right time in the cycle which is especially helpful in delayed start times. So the yeast will not die because it was added incorrectly.Overall it seems to perform very well but I have only made a few loaves as of now.
I have two observations that should mention:
The blade has a lot more "play" in it's fit over the post that drives it and does not fit as snug as the last machine nor others I looked at. It may not be a problem but it MAY wear prematurely(only time will tell).
The other thing is the the sizes of loaves are termed medium(around 3 cups of flour), large and extra large(a little over 4 1/4 cups. The old machine had two sizes and the large loaf was about the same size as the new medium(or smallest size recipe) Those are pretty big loaves for 1 or 2 people. Also my favorite recipes from the book that came with my older machine are not in this book. Thankfully I kept that book and did not toss it before getting this machine. Bottom line is this is NOT the machine for a single person but IS great for a family!
Overall it seems well built and hopefully will serve me another 21 years as my last Panasonic did.

This is my first time making bread, and it was a snap first time out! I've shared recipes with friends and tried a few of my own, and they've all been delicous (except one...but we won't talk about that one...). A couple things I've noticed: sometimes the ingredients overflow from the dough pan into the main shell during the kneading process. Also, if the bread is baked in the machine, it's a funny shape...but it still tastes great! Also, if it's baked in the machine, there's a small hole in the bottom of the bread...not a concern if aesthetics aren't your thing...besides, it's on the bottom and you're going to eat it anyway, right?

What an amazing product! I've had it for about three weeks now. I've only made the basic sandwich bread so far. It is so simple and just takes minutes to put the ingredients together. Four hours later you have delicious sandwich bread, and it is really good toasted! Will begin making whole wheat and nut breads next week. So glad I purchased this.

This bread maker makes all kinds of bread and it's all perfect. It's also quiet while it is operating. It was a little more expensive than my previous bread makers but well worth it. It's also easy to keep clean.

Our original Panasonic worked beautifully for many years. It died just before Christmas. We ordered a new one. It arrived early January. It worked fine for about 2 weeks and then started sounding like it was falling apart. We took it back and we now have a new one. We hope it is as good as the first one,! The next question asks, "would we recommend to a friend?". The answer is a qualified yes based on this review.

I love my bread maker. It is simple to use, which I wanted. I bought this one because it is similar to one I had that gave out after 15 years. We like home made bread and the wonderful smell it fills the house with. This machine meets all my requirements for baking bread. I enjoy using it and it is very dependable. I definitely recommend this bread maker to everyone.
