Good features, but it has some drawbacks
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: The 4 units allow coverage throughout the house; the intercom feature which allows you to call each unit and talk is handy; the buttons light up when you pick up the phone off the cradle; the clarity of the sound is very good; provides many features similar to a cell phone. Cons: The center navigation button does not light up so you need to memorize the positions for redial, phone book, volume and caller ID if you are in low light or don’t see well; the call announcer has very strange pronunciation that makes it difficult to understand; the phone is a bit too narrow for a good grip; you have to remember to lay it down face up or it pushes buttons, which is counter to a cell phone.

Panasonic makes great phones
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used this phone for several months now and they are great. I like that I can play a message that was left from any of the 5 handsets but still leaves the message on the machine until I delete it from the base unit. Also, when the phone rings, it shows and tells me who's calling. If I miss a call but no message was left, I can easily get the phone number of calls that I missed from any of the handsets. It offers way more features; it even connects to a cell phone. The phone feels good in my hand but not so good holding it to my ear with my shoulder while I'm writing or typing on the computer. However, it has a speaker button that works great so if the call isn't private it takes care of the awkward shoulder holding thing. I'm very happy with it.

Excellent home phone with bluetooth
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this phone. I had some AT&T Dect Bluetooth phones that wouldn't last more than 3 hours and the batteries were getting harder to find so after looking in Wal-Mart for replacements I picked up a Panasonic link2cell. I love it so much I took it back, went to Best Buy and got a set with 4 phones. It connects to both of my mobile phones just like the AT&T but also allows me to connect a Bluetooth headset to use with my landline. The verbal, audible and visual text/facebook/etc alerts are great! I have a Blackberry and an LG! Both connect and I receive alerts. I can definitely leave the mobiles in the bedroom on the charger and know if I have texts or even emails along with the fact the phones ring and I can set a different ringtone for each one.

Very pleased
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Due to a problem with the interior wiring of my home I had to switch to a phone system I could plug into my modem. I was skeptical how this would work but it was easy to set up and the phones are clear and static free. It is also easy to add a number to the call block feature.

Great phones
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these for my elderly parents. Setup was simple. Phones are easy to use for basic functions and I hear them much clearer than their past model. Great phones. I recommend them for a land line user.

bought panasonic again
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Phones don't seem to last long in our house, but the last panasonic with 2 handsets lasted about 10 years and we really liked the features we used. So happy to find another, more improved panasonic, on sale, and upgraded to 4 handsets . Now we don't have to race to one central phone. The talking caller ID is our favorite feature, and we also like the ability to check previous calls using the CID feature, as not everyone leaves messages. Our last system had long lasting batteries....still the original. Hope this new version will last as long.

Q: QuestionDoes this phone recognize/stop robo calls? Thanks
Asked by cmjk.
- A:Answer Yes, it has a button to press that blocks that number in the future.

Q: QuestionDoes this unit have call blocking capabilities and if so how many numbers can be blocked. Also, can the blocked calls be silenced to no rings rather than one ring?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The unit is super easy to block calls. There is a dedicated button marked "Call Block" and all you do is push that button." It does do the 'one ring' and that can be silenced according to Page 27 of the manual. Also says 150 numbers can be blocked. . This new unit replaces the previous Panasonic system I had for 8 years. It is new and improved. Hope this helps.

Q: QuestionDoes this phone come with the rechargeable batteries? I see Best Buy selling the batteries as a bundle and don't want to pay extra for batteries if they come with the phone.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer It comes with batteries in all phones.

Q: QuestionIs the phone able to record an incoming message from a connected cell phone?
Asked by Glow.
- A:Answer I've been trying to set up a KX-TGD56 for my aunt, to go cell phone only. This saves at least $30/month with MetroPCS instead of AT&T "landline". The bummer is, it seems the Panasonic's answering machine only works with a land line. It cannot be programmed to answer the cell call and take a message after X rings. The aging auntie is not gonna be able to dig through the android screens to get messages - and you can't screen calls in real time either. Seems like other vendors also fail to support this behavior. I am quite disappointed.

Q: QuestionDo you need a land line (I use COX Communications for my landline) to operated the system. I am looking to connect two cell phones with different numbers to this system and eliminate the landline from COX.
Asked by Ofor.
- A:Answer I use a landline with mine, but no, you don't have to have a landline. You can use this system exclusively with your cell phone. I haven't tried pairing it with two cell phones.

Q: QuestionWhat does DECT 6 mean. It’s not on all phones descriptions. Thanks
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer DECT stands for Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications, usually known by the acronym DECT, is a standard primarily used for creating cordless telephone systems. DECT 6.0 technology is the latest cordless platform, providing improved range without needing to boost the power. This platform has been set aside exclusively for cordless phone use, which means that DECT 6.0 models have superior sound quality and do not suffer from interference created by wireless networks.

Q: QuestionDo all phones need hookup to a phone jack or just the base unit.
Asked by nonnie.
- A:Answer Only the base needs to be hooked to a phone jack. The remaining phones come with a charging station that just needs to be plugged into power to charge them.
