This camera is amazing. Photo quality, auto focus, construction are all exceeding my expectations. I have used the S1R for both photos and video. So much better than M4/3 cameras in my opinion. It is good that Panasonic included an SD card slot as the XQD cards can be expensive. So far I've had zero problems with the camera. I would recommend the S1R to anyone wanting to step up their photo or video game.

First let me starting by saying this camera reserve better reviews than the ones I see online . The camera is well build . Image quality is very , very good . The kit lens is one the best kit you can find from any brand with very sharpe image even with the 24-105 f4. I am a Nikon user , i owned Nikon d90, d7000, d500 and d810. The image of the Nikon is warmer competing to the Panasonic which is neutral . But I am very please with the quality overall . All the reviews about the autofocus is true . The system that Panasonic used is not one the best comparing to Sony . Eye autofocus is still king . Now ,Leica release the sl2 which is almost the same camera as the s1r . They have the same sensor . The Leica autofocus is the same , but nobody complain about it. Leica might produce the best lenses but not the best cameras . The i tried the 24-90mm lens on my Panasonic s1r and the image quality is spectacular. So the downside of the s1r is : not a lot of lenses and very expensive ones . But any good photographers knows to invest double in lenses because after all , is not the camera , it is the glass and the eye of the photographer.

Best camera on the market right now, the L-amount is so versatile practically every lens in existence can be adapted to this camera. The build quality can’t be beat. Photos are unbelievably sharp and detailed, can’t recommend this camera enough. The kit lens is equally good and versatile.
